Amazon Affiliate Silo Website Question

Hello BHW,

I'm currently building an Amazon Affiliate website using a Silo Site structure. I think i've got it down, but I've got one question regarding silo pages and support articles.

The whole silo principle relies on this markup:
Homepage > Category > Silo page > supporting article.

However, when I read guides on siloing they say that the supporting articles are used to increase the ranking page on the silo page. However, as I have an amazon affiliate site I'm really only interested in ranking the so called supporting articles as they target buying keywords about the niche.

How it looks on my site:
Homepage > Cooking > Beef > Affiliate article like top 5 beef retailers
Homepage > Drinks > Beer > Best beers for the summer

I'm really only interested in ranking the last article in the silo structure if you know what I mean. The category it's in is too broad to be targetted by buyers anyway. Would the Silo structure like I have it now be sufficient for that?

You're right.

For example, if you want to rank only this page "Best beers for the summer", you must link it with last children only.
It work fine.

Homepage > Drinks > Beer > Blond beer > Best beers for the summer
Homepage > Drinks > Beer > Stout > Best beers for the summer

At the end of the day he will have 4-5 more articles all targeting the same keyword and that not only means cannibalization but those articles will not get enough juice to do anything.
For your example I would make something like this:
The whole idea behind siloing is that it allows you to target harder keywords that you would normally would.
Homepage
let's say you have to main categories:
Drinks Food
another 2 categories for "drinks"
Beer Wine
We will then list a couple of articles that are in the Beer theme (silo)
Best beer for the summer
How to make beer
Best draft beer
The history of beer

These article are highly relevant for you beer silo and will help you rank for your beer money terms, as the top of the silo will get links from all articles. In this example the Beer page will always get a link, the Drinks page will sometimes get a link.
Decide on your best keywords, in your example you want to rank for "Best beer for the summer", well that page will get a link from the Beer page and a couple from other siblings that are in the same theme (silo).

I have amazon sites as well as silo'ed some of them.
Here is how I do it:
Homepage > Parent page > Category > supporting pages.
My parent page always have a combination of product reviews and general information on topic.
