A question about adsense and keyword research

I've been watching Google and the way it's moving very heavily towards natural learning and how this can affect you're keyword research/ revenue; here's what I mean.

It seems Google is getting very sophisticated with it's ads platform and will more likely show ads that you as a user is interested in, instead of ads that are related to the content on your page.

I have done some tests, both with android devices, test vps, etc....

If you create a new Google account and browse the web, you tend to get pretty lame ads but after browsing for a while, depending on if you get some retargetting cookie or not you start to see ads specific to your habits as a user.

This is good and might be bad in some ways. Typically if a user is always searching for playstation 4 cheats or whatever they might not be that valuable if they land on your site that is serving ads for lawyer services.

That above example was a bit contrived but can you see where I am going here. If you rank a site for some keywords with decent CPM but you get users who typically search or watch minecraft cheats and you are relying on adsense, wouldn't that then skew the ads show to something about minecraft "if those ads exists" vs what you're content is built around?

So when choosing a niche, do i need to focus on high CPC keywords or now just create the site in any niche where you can rank and visitors will see re marketing ads and will click, do you mean to say this?

I think you can block ads from certain companies in you adsense control - to get rid of some of those low paying ones.

What hongdou said is true, i was testing several methods on how to increase the cpc, "blocking low paying ads ++ Based on high paying keywords ++ reduce the number of ads in one page....." but without success.

always between 0.2$ - 0.9$ cpc sometimes a click with 3$ in making money niche but only one time in two months jjjjjjejejejej

It's a one year experimenting, so i could only suggest to focus on traffic and not losing your time trying to increase cpc.

To confirm what hongdou said before.
If your main traffic source is social networks whatever ur niche is your will have only low cpc rate.

But if you are targeting high paying keyword niches, and your main traffic source is from Google search engines, that's would be a jackpot.

It's nice to get some feedback on this issue. Since I use a version of adblock when I surf the web most of the time when I turn it off, switch browsers, use virtual machine or use virgin devices to browse websites I notice a drastic difference in the types and relevance of the ads that get served. On virgin devices or virtual machines that are reset to virgin state before use the ads are typically very crap shoot text based ads not related to anything.

If I leave one of these devices on and have it browse around certain themed websites or parts of the web, then a lot of ads start showing up based on what I tell the machine to look for. That says to me that Google's machine learning is building a profile of each user it can track and then serving related ads.

This puts people in an interesting position, because it's no longer as simple as it use to be and it will only get worse as Google's data sets get larger.

So if Google controls your traffic, they control your income and if they control your income they can get pissy and piss on you anytime they feel like. I guess people with massive traffic from Google should figure out a way to get that targeted traffic in a system that you control as much as possible and not rely solely on Google.

1- You have a blog with ads
2- You are promoting your blog on social networks = Direct link to your posts.
3- Let's say that your blog is "Fashion" niche related. And the visitor found your link on social networks.
4- The visitor made some search before on google search engine about "Humour" before clicking on your link.
5- Be sure 99% that most of ads that the visitor would see on your blog are "Humour" related.

In this situation, there's no matter to work for high cpc keyword or high paying niche.

1- You have a blog with ads
2- Done SEO to get visitors from search engine.
3- Then be sure 100% that all ads on your blog would be related to your niche.

In this situation, you must work hard for SEO, Promote on Adwords; use niche with high paying cpc and make profit.

I agree with what you are saying. Let's put a third bucket

You have a capture page and build an email list, even if you get crap CPC from social traffic some percentage of that social traffic will fill up your email list also if you work hard for your SEO and do get visitors, they will be more likely to opt into your email list.

Now Google slaps you hard, you can use your email list to rebuild faster than starting over.

This doesn't just apply to G though, it could be twitter, facebook, IG, etc...

How many stories I've seen on this BHW forum about users getting IG banned, FB banned, G banned. If you try to fill up a bucket or niche specific users, you can rebuild faster without much worry about being banned.

When it comes to Adwords check with CPC keywords.
And your site should contain the legit contents with quality backlinks.
Also,do the mobile optimization for your site.
Be clear with Adsense policies because Google is so sensitive about their policies.

How many websites have you ranked in the past or recently. Do you have any proofs showing serp results for these websites that you are ranking with good quality content and correct keywords?
