[Pinterest] - I suspect I'm doing wrong

Hello BHW:

I have to admit I'm not a Pinterest user, but I decide to create an account for my niche site (e-commerce)

This was my strategy:

1. I decide to create one board per product category. So "Product Type A" goes to "Board A"
2. I bought FollowLiker to do the follow/unfollow for me.
3. I identified influencers in my niche and used FL to follow their followers.
4. There is one board exclusive for my blog posts.
5. There is another board exclusive for repins related with my niche.
6. All pins except those on 4) and 5) are related to the products on my store.
7. Every product pin have 20 hashtag related with the niche.

But I don't see any engagement of my pins, no repins, no likes, no comments.

My pinterest account is new, and I only have 100 followers, in Facebook for example with 100 followers you can see some interaction, likes, comments and shares. Does Pinterest needs more followers to see some interactions?

I red that pinterest groups can improve traffic but an invitation is required.

1. Should I just message the group admin and ask him/her to invite me?
2. If I join to a group, is it ok to only pin my products or is it better to diversify with other people pins?

I'm sorry if some questions are silly but I'm a complete noob on Pinterest. I don't know the pinterest's manners.

With Pinterest engagement is a passive thing. Your pins show up delayed in search the less followers you have, but tend to stick longer once they're there.

Overall try getting more followers ~35,000 before you expect consistent results.

Aggressive following is a bit easy to start off with, after that start commenting for even more growth.

Maybe those 100 followers you have are not real people or most of them are bots. Also if they are real followers then maybe those pins are not what they are interested for Like or repin. Just keeping do it till you have around 1k followers and still you don't get any activities then you might have a problem.

You can't expect any engagement with just 100 followers. Keep growing your account. Also, looks like Pinterest is somehow strict with new websites, they don't show pins from those sites in first couple of weeks to users, at least in my case.

yup, you definitely need way more than 100 followers to start seeing activity.
i think 5,000 is the minimum you need to see some re-pins and a little traffic

that's not right at all. I'd say the treshold is roughly 500 followers, if even that. Followers really don't matter a lot at this point, if your pins suck.
Actually the only reason for following people nowaday seems for them checking out your boards and maybe repining something directly. Other than that chances that untargeted followers see your pins are close to nil

I agree. The more you grow it, the better off you are.

To get benefits from Pinterest, your account need to be business type and your follower should be your target audience. And pin something new and interesting to them.

it depends on what your site is for.
adsense sites need a lot of traffic, but ecommerce sites dont need as much.

ofc they need a lot of traffic - but as of now there is no straight forward correlation between follower count and traffic on pinterest.
