Thanks for the informative post, just wondering do you provide this service yourself?

Thanks

Yes I do! That's why I'm confident in my assertions.
Great post mate! I will be surely using this for my online business. I was able to learn so much from your post.

Happy to help, let me know if you have any ORM questions.

I don't know why but I can't see the images. It says "The requested attachment could not be found."

You're right. They're working on that as well as a couple other final issues since the conversion to the new forum software.

It would be great, if you can share something on HOW TO REMOVE MUGSHOT's .....

Removals are VERY difficult. I focus on suppression. There are a lot of ways to suppress images, the main thing is getting positive images on strong sites. I don't do many web 2.0's as they don't work well (in my experience). A few social media sites work well (Twitter and LinkedIn) and then you'll need your own sites, maybe a press release and other medium-high quality content. If the content is contextual (has the client name) and there is an image named correctly, it will usually rank. Might not rank above the negative, but you can always push it up. That help?

Cheers, Thanks for the explanation. Never thought about Press Release and Social Media sites. It really helps, BTW have you ever tried Image sharing sites like Imgur, Photobucket etc?

I've tried them and haven't see any results. If you look at any individual's name in Google Images, you will rarely see image sharing sites and my experience falls in line with that.

I'd like to congratulate you about this easy-reading guide.

Wondering how do you keep up the good relationship with all these bloggers, guest/invited bloggers and your network?

Do you recommend 1-question interviews for opinion-makers and social media influencers or VIPs as a good starter to collaborate?

I don't maintain any kind of relationship with the bloggers. When I need something from them, I send an email or message to the group asking to see who might be interested. We use Google forms to allow them to respond and then contact them with specifics.

Before talking about collaboration I try to build rapport with a question or comment about something they've done recently. I will read a recent post that I can intelligently comment or something that I can ask a question about. When they respond I start the conversation.

Good stuff man, you dropped a lot of knowledge in this articles. I am looking forward to your next post.

I have one question. I am not sure that I fully understand what do you mean by "KW blasting" could you please clarify it. Thanks.

I am not sure that I fully understand what do you mean by "KW blasting" could you please clarify it. Thanks.

What I've found is that if I blast a lot of exact match or partial match anchor text at a few pages Google will "lock" the results so they're not likely to be as easy to manipulate.

For example if the client is John Smith and has a Twitter, Youtube, Facebook and LinkedIn profile that we're pushing up by blasting, the entire search results for "John Smith" will eventually get "locked down" and stop adjusting. There will be less volatility and movement for that search term. In the end it becomes more difficult to suppress a negative, or move a positive as a result of this lock down effect. I will look to see if I can find a site or a tool that shows search volatility as a percentage for a search term (maybe SERPWoo @CCarter ?) and compare that volatility to 10 others and see if I can show it practically. It would make for another good guest post :).

Sorry for the late reply - Yeah at SW you can see that on a keyword basis:

^^ That's the keyword "Apple" going crazy last couple of days cause of the new iphone and Apple event. Just click on the "volatility" icon and it'll pop up for whatever keyword you are looking at.

Thanks for the share OP!
Bookmarked long time back .Just finished reading. Can't restrict myself just to the thanks button. Very informative.Few of the answers helped even more :)

I was digging and found a very spammy site ranking well. I looked at the IBL's (in-bound links) and found about 50 .edu's! I was shocked to see 50 different educational institutions linking to this incredibly spammy site. Turns out all of those links were due to a scholarship the spammy site set up. That made me keep digging and I discovered other sites that were creating scholarships in order to gain .edu links. I have tested this with two clients (there are services that will handle all of the leg work from setup to link acquisition) and the results are mixed. Both clients' domains were ranking well and we were looking for additional exposure. We didn't get any real media mentions or press coverage, but they both got great .edu links for the cost of an annual scholarship ($500-5000 per year) plus link building expenses ($1000-4000 one time fee).

Big thanks for sharing the discovery/method.Can't imagine the possibilities of making it a service.

I don't want to play on a level field, I want to be playing a different game.
Noted! Always at it.

Currently dealing with a ORM client with bad SERPS for company name from a forum. Just started, created social profiles, did some basic back linking(none done so far) and continuing the process.Bought some EMDs with company affected keywords.Started blog posting.Started boosting existing SERPs. Few backlinks appeared on the fast page in 2 weeks.Started boosting them.
Next steps creating videos on all video platforms.Trying image platforms as well.Blog commenting(prioritized next).Adding social share signal services to results in 2nd page.
So far the task seems achievable.
Will wait for few more weeks with the current strategy and in pipeline tasks.
Mind if I pm/post for help if it goes out of my hands?
Few questions :
1.As the bad link is from one forum, will disvowing it for my site help/work? (in my pipeline)
2.I have read(convinced) that we can approach google with proper case/court order of how the serp is affecting the business.(In my pipeline)Will that help/work?

P.S : You should have named the post as "Advanced SEO and ORM in 2016" (At least that is what I felt after I read!)

As for your questions...

1. I doubt one single disavow will help. Maybe if hundreds of people were disavowing links it would give Google an indication that site is toxic, but not sure if they have a filter for that.

2. Yes, for most sites you'll need a clear reason to be able to remove something. If they've posted something illegal or threatening, that's the easiest way. There are companies that specialize in this that we work with, but I don't handle the removals myself, it's a little more specialized.

7. Effective Results, Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow

One thing I believe won't go out of style are real sites with great content. and that still holds true today. However, one thing I wish I did back then was to really spend time building out more sites. Rather than expanding, I should have been spending a few more hours and dollars on a site. Today I'm making sure that my sites look good before moving on.

Thanks for the in-depth post. As I'm just jumping over from SMM to ORM, I'm starting with review funnels and review acquisition campaigns as a ORM software reseller.
That plus web design (and SMM if I have to) are the only packages that I will bundle at the moment.

When you say "great content wont go out of style" are you talking about keyword rich inbound marketing? coming from a copywriting background, I LOVE inbound.

I've sent off my first round of 50+ letters, would you advise me to start writing targeted blogposts about:
What ORM is in {{local city}}
How much to pay for a good ORM company in {{local city}}
Is ORM legal

etc etc?

Because honestly, all of the other info you wrote is pretty indepth and over my head. My eyes were legit crossed by the time we got to point 3. I'm super interested in learning as much as I can, but I have to start with what I know.

I want to lock down 8 ORM clients within the next month, (I'm in Vegas so it should be pretty easy. reviews are king here)
using a review monitoring platform to automate most of the work, then spend the rest of my time creating content to generate more leads.

Good idea?

Personally I write content for two reasons most of the time. First is to provide value to my readers. The second is to draw in clients. People who might search for long tail keywords and find an article that exactly matches their search result is perfect. The problem, is that people searching what you suggested are unlikely. Most people will search "reputation management" or possibly "las vegas reputation management". I would say a couple people per month (maybe) search what you suggested in your locale. I wouldn't focus on just those terms unless you're developing a business around your city and only your city. It might not be a bad idea, but I wouldn't have much expertise there. My nearest client that I've ever worked with was 200 miles away.

Thanks for share OP, would you PM me ? I have a problem, may you help me.

Sure thing. If it's appropriate to share and might help someone else in the future, feel free to start a new thread in the ORM section. If it's not, I'll send you a PM since you don't have 15 posts and can't PM me.

thanks for the share
wanted to learn abt this , and came across this.
