The fact that it's no-follow means that your site won't get any link-juice or boost its metrics. However, Google highly values Wikipedia and any site featured there gets more authority. I have ranked a lot of fresh sites for low/mid comp keywords in top 5-10 by adding a Wikipedia link alone, with no seo done whatsoever.

Also, SocietyGirl mentioned "unsure on the actual benefit but the backlink is there". Well, her site has jumped several pages for a mid/high comp keyword. So wiki backlinks are definitely worth it.

Having a Wikipedia link definitely adds more value to your SEO efforts. Not only does it make your service look more elite, but it has a huge impact on rankings as well - even if it is no-follow.
