Good luck OP!
In your first heading I can see you have zero knowledge about IM but your targeted amount $1,000,000. Mate, I'm doing these job since 2000 but I'm in fare to fixed up such highly targeted amount.
Rant/Reply/Mindset Post
I'm not really sure what this means honestly. I will assume though that you are saying
my goal is too large. As far as the goal goes, small achievable goals are made for some people, while large, out of this world goals, are meant for others. You all might be super motivated by achieving small goals one step at a time. Which is fine, all that matters is that it works for YOU.
However, what works for me and for some others is to set goals that are so large (and unrealistic to the small mind) that people laugh at them. This works for many reasons.
1. The look on people's faces when you achieve the goal, is priceless. Priceless enough to make you want to work harder.
2. Even if I didn't hit the very large goal that I set, even if I got halfway, I would still be at $500,000.
3. It does plenty of compensating for my, less than "porn star average", size wiener.
4. It sets yourself to higher standards. You only set a goal to what you think you are worth and what you think your work is worth. Nothing else. For me personally, if I set a goal at $5/day, I probably wouldn't do absolutely shitty work, but I most definitely would not be doing my best. As long as you are taking your goal seriously: Your goal = Your effort
If I set a goal of being a fitness model in the next 6 months, will I not push harder than if I set my goal to being a fitness model in the next 6 years? By telling yourself six years (we'll say this is the equivalent to the goal that some of you set, which is "$5 per day"), you just subconsciously gave yourself plenty of room to be a slacker. You
ALREADY have told yourself, consciously or not, that you can't achieve the "great" amount, so you'll settle for the "ok" amount.
Don't short yourself like that.
Guys, it is literally
all about the mind and your perception of what you are capable of. Do you think that any millionaire would be a millionaire if he told himself from the beginning (and listened to everyone) that he couldn't do it?
HELL NOOOO, because he wouldn't have even gave it his all, if he would've even tried in the first place because there would be that constant voice saying "This is wasted effort. You're never going to make it. Spend your valuable time somewhere else." Know that you can do it no matter what it is, and you'll end up working your ass off until you get there because you'll know that it is possible for you.
Like I said, what is most important is what works for
YOU. Everyone is different. However, big goals and what people call "impossible" is what drives me and what works for me. So that is what I do now and what I will continue to do.
Last 2 things and then my motivational speech/rant is over:
1 - Even though my goal may seem high to some, if you constantly listen to inspirational success stories, and interviews, and podcasts, etc. you will see that $1,000,000 really is not that high of a goal at all. People are achieving that these days with just some good ole fashioned effort, thanks to the internet.
2 - Since you have been in this game since 2000, you should really start asking yourself why this number sounds so highly targeted to you. I believe that if you held yourself to the standard of having $1,000,000 work from the beginning, 16 years ago, you would have achieved at the VERY LEAST this amount by now.
P.S I haven't built any million dollar empire, I haven't accomplished any super human feats, I haven't even finished my first projects. So, I say that to tell you that you can choose to believe what you want to believe and you really have no GREAT reason to believe what I say, but by adopting this set of beliefs and by living by them for awhile now, I can say that I truly feel I am starting to take control of my life, rather than my life taking control of me. And it's a great feeling.
