Hey guys, haven't been for a while now.
Besides the major and/or known ranking factor changes, I must admit that the number 1 issues for us is ranking times.
Half a year ago, creating a churn site with just a few pages, pointing several hundreds tier1 links at it with mostly EXACT anchors, even using sitewide links, all at the same time, resulted with lighting fast rankings for competitive niches and keywords. This enabled webmasters to determine winners and work on the site design, content and overall authority.
What changed since? Using the same methods, same links, different and easier niches, using aged domains and even geo targeting for less competitive countries all seem to be ineffective!
- Is it the page indexed page amount?
There's a possibility that G sees the inbound links and analyses the site in minutes since links were built, then determines the website is think in content. It could be the same for age, amount of links etc..
- is it the blast of links?
Trying to "Drip Feed" links seemed not to work as well, and have less impact.
- is it the age?
Used to rank flawlessly, see above.
- is it the anchors?
I seriously doubt that.
Something else??
Guys, please give you input so we could better rank! Im not buying into the "give it some time" or "not enough content" when I see awesome redirects work like a charm, thin websites crush it in no time and so on.
Appreciate the help!
