Footprints -- Creating Multiple Domains Under Same Dedicated IP

Hey everyone,


I'm looking to start creating some mini sites to promote specific content and also be used for SEO purposes.
Hostwinds has a $10/month unlimited domains plan.


I'm vaguely familiar that there's a concept of "footprints" and with the importance of spreading your domains around several hosting servers....
are "footprints" something to really take into consideration or would I be alright creating 6-7 mini authority sites on their own domains to help promote offers as well as increase the ranking of my two main sites?



I'm awful at building backlinks and SEO in general, so any advice and tips would be fantastic.
I have long tail pro and would be dedicating a site to just 5-6 keywords. I'd also be using some free web 2.0's when possible.

That shouldnt be a problem, and you dont even need a dedicated IP, shared hosting is usual with a single ip having thousands of sites hosted on.

Multiple Domains on the Same IP Address. Dangers of Shared recommended that my clients just setup a cheap hosting account at Go Daddy. The extra hosting cost getting a dedicated IP is less than 2Euro per month

It's not a problem to use the same Shared Hosting account to host multiple sites. You could just getaway with it if you just wanna user each site independently.

Yet, if you host multiple sites and wanna use them to link back to your main/money site(s), it'll be a problem about footprint.

Yeah, I definitely would want to share content across all my sites. Even if this is maybe 2-4 links out of 20-25 across the entire site? I plan to spend a week or two per each mini site, making them look decent and be a source for small income as I promote related ideas to my original site.

For example if my main site is shoes... one mini site will sell laces.

The only time its not fine is when PBN domains are hosted on the same IP, that creates flags.

The more diversified your sites are, the better. Impossible to say when and how Google looks at each single factor and with what weight, but if you're serious, you should diversify as much as possible, every single aspect, including servers. Get cheap accounts, even free, get dedicated IP, every aspect of linking, registration of domains, location of servers, everything you can. Make it difficult for SEs to figure it out, but of course, it requires some resources so you have to decide if and how much it's worth the effort. In anycase, plan, record, track!

AB hosting has a CRAZY plan, $50 for life, unlimited everything which I found here on BHW. So I'm about to go crazy with some PPC madness and I'd rather not cut myself off at the knees for anything long term that can sustain itself after I build it up right from the start.
