Journey: Creating a Stable SEO Business with ZERO $$$$

Just a heads up. I've been scraping several Tumblrs and have found that a good number of them (TF 8+) seem good but in fact they have crap links. I mean, most of their links come from very shitty pbns and the ratio between links and referrings domains is not good. Don't rely on TF, always check the backlinks! :)

Wish you the best on this journey! I'm learning very interesting things. Thank you! :)

Hey man, nice thread. Btw, I'm lost in the part where you use the add on Vanity Name Checker in ScrapeBox. So you want to extract those with 404? Then what happened next? You will create new tumblr blog using those address? E.g if i scrape a 404 tumblr acct, with the domain of "hooray.tumblr.com" then I will register with that name? Am I correct?

1. Find a Tumblr subdomain with whatever PA/DA you're looking for (make sure it is not de-indexed)
2. Register that subdomain, and the PA/DA lasts.
3. Post your links on that blog.

Thank you for answering. But one thing is still not clear to me.

What's the purpose of vanity checker? Is it to find expired tumblr sub domains?

How can you rank so easily with only just a few links is beyond me really.
I have to throw so much shit on my sites to see movement, that I am banging my head against the wall everytime I see you or Hekke or even Turkish Delight.
No idea if I am picking way too hard keywords, or I am just retarded.

You are not retarded.

These links (I am putting around 15 - 20 in total for a 'Very Easy' KW) work best on things which are very easy to rank. These are like crappy PBN links. Sure, they move easy KWs but dont do squat for harder KWs.

To put it into perspective:

1. The 'metrics' are inflated due to the root domain.
2. These normally have the same back link profile of a beefed up contextual link or a crappy PBN link.
3. I am using VERY easy KWs on an established site OR Parasites.

I would not say it is easy. But this method is easier than building a PBN.

I would suggest tweaking your KW research. Additionally, this is not instant ranking. It still takes time.

So u comment with the link to the money site?

I post an article with a link to my money site.

Amen.

I tend to find if 2+ metrics look good, I snatch it up and evaluate later. I do this in such bulk I don't have time to check all the back links. If you wanted a 'great' network, I would suggest these stats:

PR 1+ (This is one of the best filtering mechanisms)
PA 35 +
TF 10 +
RD 10 +

If you scrape some with those metrics I can guarantee they will be as good as the vast majority of PBN domains and you will see movement.

I, on the other hand, I am looking for a X,XXX network when all is said and done, so I scrape as many as I can.

Good luck to you on this OP!

Yes, to find expired sub domains.

So the expired subdomains are the one with 404 status?

After some time on SEO, I still have this creepy feeling somewhere, that I don't know how exactly an easy keyword looks like or how much stuff it requires to get ranked. And I believe that many people on this forum don't know that either and this is exactly the step where most of us fail. I had been workin with parasites mostly, but I got tired of seeing them removed once they rank. I only recently started to work with domains with fluctuating results. But yes, it makes sense to rank parasites for easy keywords, but considering they deletion rate, is it really worth it to put so much manual work into them?

I am currently trying to rank one "soon to be" authority site, but after web 20s and tier 2 links, there was no or almost no movement at all, even for pathetic 300 a month keywords. I own 100 site PBN network, which works, but haven't used it for this particular site yet, considering that I don't want to link twice from one domain to same money site. With 100 sites I can rank what... 3 - 4 money site pages? Just don't know, probably doing something wrong here.

That was my biggest problem when going for 'big' sites. I started outsourcing a LOT. I was used to ranking one page sites or Parasites but you can't exactly use a PBN on a real Authority Site.

It comes down to site structure, a powerful domain, and easy KWs.

I would bet on something:

1. You are using a new domain
2. You have nothing ranking currently on the site
3. Your tier one properties are not ranking
4. You do not check past top 20 results for competition
5. You are very frustrated

I will address number five first, that is why google has a delayed ranking algo. You are supposed to be frustrated. That is the game.

I tend to find some commonalities:

1. Once I rank a page, things tend to rank easier for everything else.
2. With a really strong domain, KWs pop into place themselves.
3. When I do not use a strong domain, I need to beef it up with foundational links and press releases + wait months.
4. If your tier one properties rank (For anything in the niche) they work better.
5. Competition analysis needs to be deeper than most people suggest.

What I mean is this...

If your Web 2.0 is ranking for a KW 'chocolate coated gummy worms with sprinkles on sale' and your money site is about chocolate coated foods, your money site will rank quicker. This is relevant and a ranking page linked to you. When starting I suggest going with naked URL. But the real magic is super long tail KWs with no one targeting them and using that as your article content and a LSI link to your money site. With a Web 2.0 the super long tail KW will rank and your money site will move.

Also, once you rank one KW on a website (Not a small KW, but something with some search volume), I find I rank other KWs easier. Obviously the long tails all magically pop into place from the domain and I use less to rank more KWs.

I only use strong domains if possible. I mean, I go with domains in the higher end market place. I look for a lot of age, decent foundational links to the root domain, and clean anchors. I want 5 + years old, and at least a few links from other authority sites 'in my niche' or 'ranking for niche related KWs'. When I find a domain like that, I launch a site. I am find with a domain with a link from Wiki that is ranking in top 3 because I know my domain will rank easier.

My tier one properties, when I am not being lazy, all target a long tail KW which I know will rank off of the Web 2.0s authority only. Think of making a MNS just for the kw 'chocolate covered gummy bears with sprinkles on sale'. It may get a search a month. But it can be a highly relevant link. So I build a high quality Web 2.0 about this KW. After a few weeks I drip a link to my site. I suddenly see movement on my money site.

The final thing is how deep you go in competition. I hate KW research and am not good at it. I can't find 'amazing' KWs, or rather it is not worth my time. What I can do is evaluate KWs fairly well.

I look at the top ten results for KWs with higher search volume, and if all ten are targeting the KW or have it in any h tags, title or meta description plus have a decent backlink profile or a strong domain I tend to move on. Not work my effort for most KWs. This is more true if any of these sites are 'authority sites'. If the KW makes the cut I then check the top 50 results.

Number 11 - 50. Top ten often can be determined with CTR, so if you are not ranking but are on page two you need some targeted clicks from Panda Bot or Serpify and to re-evaluate your on page.

I look to see if any of these sites are even targeting the KW. What you will find is some KWs have a few 'authority sites' in the top ten not targeting the KW at all. Most SEO say, 'I can beat it, no one is targeting my KW!'. I see what these domains are preventing from getting to page one. Since CTR plays a huge role for page one, I see if the rest of the top 50 are targeting the KW. I tend to find that an authority site will be on page one because of CTR and on page two I will have mid sized sites with several hundred links targeting the page with the KW I am trying to rank. Perfectly optimized.

My competition is far more clear, I need to have better CTR than Wikipedia, Amazon, ect, and better back links than 'Bobs Chocolate Review' which have a hidden PBN, several hundred good links and a few niche relevant links. That KW looks mighty hard to me now.

If the top 50 are not conclusive, I look deeper. But I normally have enough data.

A lot of road blocks can prevent you from ranking even 'easy' KWs.

The first thing I would suggest is using a free program to send targeted clicks to your link for long tails and see if they move. CTR is often a bigger player in niches where the top ten do not have a lot of exact links. Then I would say look at over all domain strength. A juicy domain can rank a lot of long tails while your can build 100's of links and not. It is just the way the cookie crumbles.

Keep you PBN for the 'Big' KWs like 'Chocolate' and use these cheap and free tools to rank up the easy stuff.

Web 2.0s are wonderful because they pass imaginary authority which helps stabilize rankings. It may not be enough depending on competition. I have seen your posts and you know your stuff. You have a big PBN. You are honestly just a little off on how you play the game of SEO and it will click. I can't explain everything because it is a lot of 'you know it when you see it'.

So my advice for someone who is stuck on the cusp is:

1. Targeting clicks through serps for your KWs.
2. Beef up your domain.
3. Highly relevant Web 2.0 links which are ranking for stupid easy KWs.
4. Re - evaluate your KW research. Most likely you are missing something small which hurts you big time.

I hope this rambled post helps somewhat. I think you will understand what I am saying because I know you have done SEO long enough to get this. That is also why I shared some deeper secrets of how this should be done. Good luck!

First of all, thank you for this amazing long response and your time, I really appreciate it. :)

Yes, I am exactly at that kind of transition now. From small 5 - 10 page sites, where you are ranking only home page, to bigger sites, where you want to rank each page and hell... it's making my head spin.
Parasites were quite easy, spam them, add sape and they rank... and get deleted obviously, but this is a different kind of animal.

1. Actually I am not using a new domain, this one had relatively high TF (around 15 at the beginning I believe) and DA of around 20 when I started working on it. Clean profile too, some default anchors as well and good history. It had some trouble getting indexed, which was weird, but now it's getting indexed without any issues.
2. Well I can send you a viewkey from Serpbook if you want, keywords are mostly somewhere, majority of them in top 100, average is like #50, but that's just not good enough.
3. Yes definitely this one. When I am using my PBN I am mostly targeting exactly the same keyword as I use on my money site and they rank naturally for it as well, which is one of the best backlinks I can get. And you are right about the web 2.0s, however I was outsourcing them, tried like 5 providers here and those web 2.0s weren't exactly optimized well, content was worse than crap and you have an idea. I tried to create web 2.0s myself and even though I was using spun content, it still took me 2 days to make 25 properties. It takes ages to figure out how to change theme, how to add article, how to add image etc., and Autofill Magic didn't make the process much faster. I was using a regular WordAI spinner for filler content and turing spinner for money site link content. Also added images, about us, etc. and after 5 days, none of them are still indexed, they are however currently under GSA contextual blasting.
4. I actually do check the competition quite thoroughly. I avoid authority sites completely and I can even show you if you want. I am using LTP and my keywords rarely have someone else targeting them in top 10. It's however questionable after Hummingbird update, whether it even matters, because synonyms are almost as relevant as exact match keywords.
5. Sure I am, I haven't been laid in 2 months.

I was actually using Pandabot, but christ, it was pain in the ass to set up and I hadn't seen any significant movement, seemed to me more like variance. But from my experience I could see my landing pages for youtube videos ranking pretty well only thanks to traffic, so yes, that might be one of the variables I may be missing.

One more thing that I would ask and where I think I am overanalyzing everything is onsite SEO. I am experimenting here, trying to stick with Phpbuilt's guides most of the time, but I am just not sure. I am changing keywords to see if it does anything, I am changing densities, I am putting tons of LSI keywords into the articles, I am doing slightest of changes to see the impact, but there is like no perfect number. Do you have any special way of working on onsite or you just stick with 1 - 2% density and don't care anymore?

Also, how closely related are your keywords you target in one article? Because this was another theory of mine, that they weren't that close. Example of what I usually target:
How to get rid of ugly girlfriend
ugly girlfriend treatment
best cure for ugly girlfriend

Lately I am trying to go this way:
ugly girlfriend treatment
best treatment for ugly girlfriend
how to treat ugly girlfriend

You have the idea.

And once again thank you, especially for the ecouraging words in the end. :)

I will try to answer some more I did not in PM. I think you picked a bad niche to be honest. I was in the exact niche and it IS hell.

For on page, I never force LSI. I use my LSI for my linking on tier one properties personally.

As far as KW density goes, below 3% in total, preferably above 1%. Something to be careful with is when using long tail articles. You may use a KW like 'Girlfriend' 100 times in an Article. You have another article where you target 'Girlfriend', and ten articles targeting long tail variations. You will find that one of those ten will be ranking for Girlfriend, another will be ranking for a random long tail, and your 'Girlfriend' article will be ranking for the rest of the long tails.

I hope you understand what I am saying. You need to consolidate content and see what you are ranking for. If you have content that is not ranking but you have back links to 301 the page to a ranking page or replace the content with another KW and use the article as a great piece of tier one content.

I spent a while in your niche finding I have 100's of pages ranking for things I had other articles on. You need to be careful in a niche where many KWs use portions of the same KWs over and over, and deal with alike themes. It gives a lot of content canibalization.

I suggest you pick a seed KW you want to rank for and then build some back links which target the LSI or long tail KWs you also rank to rank for. So I would have an article about 'Ugly Girlfriends'. I then add a couple sentences about 'how to get rid of an ugly girlfriend'. Then 'I hate my ugly girlfriend' and 'Ugly girlfriends are cockblocks'. I use many LSI and use those as my anchor texts.

You will find your article will rank for ALL of those KWs, including your main seed KW.

You need far less content than you think.

About the time it takes you to get content, I may have some old articles from your niche (Dozens of 1K long articles) I will check an old computer to see if I have them still and will give them to you if I find them.

I am not a huge 'you should you X service' type of guy but I have given away a few copies of Article Hunter (I think that is what it is called) which is currently being sold. I know Hawkster gave out a few keys. I bought a copy for several of my VAs, have my own personal copy, and gave some away in PM. It is a great tool to grab content from sites which were taken down. It has a plethora of free and unique content you can use built in. I would check that out.

Setting all of the Web 2.0s up is a huge PAIN. If you have the funds you can go on Fiverr or Source Market and buy them already set up. For about $1 per Tumblr, you get them registered with unique avatar, theme, IP, email, ect already done. That is a lot quicker to get them going.

I will reiterate this again, you know what you are doing. You are close. I think you are getting frustrated because you picked a niche that looks 'not hard' but in reality is harder than you think. I bet with all your knowledge and resources if you picked something else you would be doing a lot better.

Yes, I know what you mean with that girfriend example, it's keyword cannibalization and I am quite careful when it comes to that. It has never happened to me so far. *knock on the wood*

I was adding LSI keywords in to the article mostly for better overall onsite SEO, I didn't want to necessarily rank for them. I am still experimenting with this, whether the amount of LSI keywords in article can help to rank the main keyword better, but it's still just in early stages.

About the LSI anchors, I am trying to be careful here, had some sites penalized in the past for overoptimization of anchor text and ever since then I am maybe way too careful in this regard, but that looks like a solid piece of advice.

Those articles could be helpful, thank you. :) I am still not sure whether I am going to continue working on this site, I am more inclined to take your advice and screw it, but I will probably take a week or two off or work on something else.

I've never heard about the Article Hunter, I guess it scrapes archive.org? Will look into it, weird nobody ever mentioned it to me.

Oh yes, I was looking for a provider of customized accounts, but couldn't find anyone here nor on Fiverr, but I will take a closer look into that again.

Thank you for the encouraging words again. Yes, I believe you are right and I once again screwed up in the niche selection. I will have to think a few things over now. I can't thank you enough for all your help. :)

I read it thoroughly and found your steps are right.Guys........ I know fiverr, Upwork both are trusted site. Anyone can earn easily. I also worked there in my first online working time. I appreciate you for your better introduction. Please update me about your next. I also wanted to start such money making ways. How can you help me for that? please let me know through PM. I'm a logo&web designer so what will my first step?

Bought some Tumblr's off Fiverr. When I went and registered them I used a VPN, only to realize after registering the last one that I don't have any of the IP's written down. When I log in next time is it okay to access from another IP? I only plan on logging into each of them only one more time. And that's to verify, and write the posts for the Tumblr that will be drip fed over the course of 5 months. What do you think?

That will be fine.

What I do is use TOR to log into them. I do the same for my PBNs. This is the safest way to get around IPs in my experience.

It is a nifty little trick to avoid many common footprints.
