Getting Celebrity Endorsement ?

My uncle runs a Local Restaurant in our area which runs quite well locally but he has been trying to expand his business and get more customers from all over the area.
Yesterday he was contacted by someone who sells Celebrity endorsement and said that it could get him gain tremendous exposure .
Now we are no where near Big enough to afford Celebrity Endorsements which cost 5-6 figures but imagine our surprise when he mentioned that he charges only $2000-$10000 for selected Celebrities .
Getting Celebrity Endorsement for so cheap looks a bit off :/
He also offers Smaller package ranging from $400-$1000 for lesser know celebrities or social fugues, critiques etc.
I know the only way to know for sure is to try it out but do you think we should give it a try or it will be wasting our money ? :/

Most likely wasting your money if you got cold called for a celebrity "endorsement". You need to look into what they actually mean by "endorsement". What does that include? What kind of exposure would that give you? It sounds like more of a ripoff than anything.

Also, you should really think about if it makes sense to get a celebrity endorsement. It makes sense if you sell products/services that are nationwide and even worldwide, but if it's just for a local restaurant, would that really boost sales to give you a positive ROI? It might make sense if he was trying to gain exposure for his new product he released in the frozen foods section of a natonwide grocery chain and you were launching a television campaign, but for a local restaurant I just don't think getting a celebrity "endorsement" is the way to go. That's my gut feeling.

Plus, celebrity endorsements are shit anyway.

People only remember the celebrity and don't pay attention to your product.

Well I personally chatted with the person and he said that by 'Endorsement' he means that Celebrity will tweet something good about the business that will help the business owner gain trust and exposure .

And not only Celebrities , there are some Social / public figures or critiques etc who can tweet something good for much less.

He showed me some proofs too and said he will obviously share the link and I can see for myself etc etc . and I can use that pic for my life.

Anyway I think this service would be suitable for individuals , you know fitness centers , Gym, Amazon authors etc.

I don't think that I will use this service for my Uncle but a friend of mine seems interested in this service who is fiction writer :/

If I end up using the service I will update the results.

I agree with KraftyKyle - Don't waste your time & money!


I don't know if you take control of social media? Because great customers are using social media to talk to their friends. If so offer discounts to them, and make the most important things: build brand.

Yea that's a completely useless service and frankly sounds like a bunch of BS. Best to use other outlets/methods to promote and grow his business.
