The Shopify + Facebook Method FAQ - All Questions Here Please.

Hey Franklin, can you make the video for the facebook ads,, i mean how to optimize, what not to do etc etc for the beginners, i am new in fb ads, so I have the problem on there...

Please don't feed crappy sites like AliExpress anymore, there are much better marketplaces out there. This is just my opinion so don't feel offended in any way.

What marketplaces are you talking about?

Do you have a bidding strategy on FB? I fully understand FB ads and how to target them to specific audiences. My suggested bid is $.60 and I just don't see that converting. What is your target CPC and how do you achieve a low enough CPC to make a profit?

One day. Right now I'm doing SEO services, starting 3 CB websites and working on my blog. Not enough hours in the day for me right now. I will do one as soon as I can.

@ Franklin

Have you ever tried a twist to this? Eventhough your method is already a good twist :D.

1. Find a product between $1-$10 + Free shipping on Aliexpress
2. Sell the product for $10-$15 or more + Free shipping in your own webshop
3. Maybe add a coupon of $5 or more to get things rolling.

Advantages
1. People are attracted to the free shipping and will not complain/refund so fast as it is free after all and they expect a longer delivery time. If it's faster great!
2. You are most likely still cheaper than your competitors and the free shipping is considered as a plus.

Yip all sorts of twist can work :) I know someone selling item with a 40% mark up and free shipping.

When I use FB advert I usually just let FB figure out the bidding for me. If I set it myself I get hardly any reach because it;s hard to work out what the current bidding price is.

Really hard to get a foot on the ground with this method. 262 views of one product page on my store, zero sales. I tried free products plus shipping, 0.01 products plus shipping, $19.99 products with coupon etc. etc. Nothing worked. Tried different products, plush toys, fishing, camping, necklace, dog collars etc. etc..
I get views on my website, but never any order. I already thought there is something not working right etc, but I tried to order from my own shop and it works.
So really I do not know how people can have 20-50 orders per DAY with this, I tried this for more than one week now with zero orders.

You need to try a different approach then I guess. maybe the the 40% markup and free shipping method. Seems to also work.

Thanks Franklin, Sythx and avi619 for your threads I just got my first sale.

My set up is I use woocommerce, I made sure the site looks legit, loaded up 8 products and created pages such as "return policy" "terms and conditions" etc.

My ctr is a bit low at 3.72% and cpc is around $0.30 I'm creating another ad and see how it goes. Any tips on ad optimization will be much appreciated.

Tips I can give to anyone who is using Facebook Ads for any kind of method (not just this one) to get a low cpc.

1. Do not enable mobile newsfeed ads - Not a lot of people buy stuff online via their mobile/tablet - Very expensive ads.
2. Do not enable video ads - Most people don't watch them - You can't click through.
3. Only desktop newsfeed and desktop rightside bar ads.
4. Use a very very very engaging image which you edit in photoshop, fireworks etc.
5. Use very very very engaging text which encourages users to click the ad.

cheers

That's completely right. I also use only desktop ads.

Problem is not that nobody clicks on the ad. Problem is nobody buys anything on the site. I analysed it with Google Analytics now.
I have 230 site visits and only 16 of them actually put an item in basket. I have a bounce rate of 84% on product page and 100 % (!!!!) on cart page. So that means from these only 16 nobody continued to checkout.
They see I charge shipping which was not mentioned in my ad so they leave. I will try now what Frank said, to sell with free shipping and with about 40% mark up.
If this also does not work I will quit this method because then it simply does not work. If ads were bad, or product page, or product isn't appealing etc then I could change it, but everything seems ok. I think it is because the product is advertised as a $0.01 product and then on the page they suddenly have to pay for shipping, so if this is the problem, I will now put a product with free shipping and add a coupon code in my ad to get $10 off.

Guys, I know this is not about woocommerce but I didnt want to create a new thread for this.
Please, does anybody know how to install the NEW FACEBOOK CONVERSION PIXEL to woocommerce? For some reason it doesnt work for me, I tried to google it but couldnt find anything good, please, can somebody explain it in few steps how to install it? I want to track checkouts and add to carts. Thanks a lot!

Yes I am also using this method because it will reduce the bouncerate and people will not feel cheated or fear a scam.

In my opinion your webshop also looks more legit because which decent seller sells their products for $0.01 (let's assume most of them are not tech savvy and do not know the products come from china)?! With a coupon you will still be way cheaper than the competition and the chance that people will buy another product on your webshop (at full price) is very likely.

You can create an emaillist and have returning buyers which is more important in the long run.

Another plus is that most people will agree with a longer shipping time as it's free after all.

Since after centuries a method that even a n00b can try :) Keep up the good work mate!

Not just that, but your content is just too awesome.

I've took the action in famous fishing niche with just 1 advert (oppose to what you have repeatedly asked that is not to go with just 1 advert) and praying for sales :) Infact this is just day 1 I will be following your suggestions with twists. Will update you if got something worthful to share to your fanbase.

This isn't anything more than a mail order method, which has been burned decades ago. The op deserves thanks and praise as he put a slightly new twist on the method and shared it to make it work. The real problem is the massive waves of noobs burning this method from ashes to literally nothing when they setup crappy products that no one is enticed to buy. I find this method could work well with 3d printed stuff, but only if you can recover costs after creating them item. I have placed several twists to a method similar to this I learned a while ago. I can flat out tell you that your wasting your time looking for cheap products to mark up and sell, rather spend time finding ways to make money from items you could just buy on Amazon and recover the product cost over various methods.

The twist is the money maker, and no one (even me) is going to share the twist as it would be burned overnight by a wave of mindless drones copy pasting niche method and sales copy into Facebook ads, then crying when it doesn't work out for them. Mail Order died from the same reasons, too many con artists and "cheap" products scammers created the wonderfully dead world of mail order. Yes, you can still make money in it but you have to spend money and effort to get a return back.

Would you kindly point me to a business model that doesn't involve the above ? what's wrong with spending money and effort ?

Think opportunity and which niche has the most spending in it at that time. Cross off heavily spammed niches until you have one that is moderately spammed compared to the heavily spammed niches. Your method would be either based on subscription, investor, or on mark up. You pick your poison as I do a little bit of all 3. I'd charge a subscription if its a business 2 business hook up or is laser targeted to the perfect consumer for the market, I'd rely on slight margins of profits on just plain old retail, or I'd sell at cost and make money drawing in investors who would then determine how they would want a return from the products.

TBH, it takes no effort at all to find loop holes of just simply buying directly from amazon, passing it through a well setup affiliate portal so you can save more money on the item, and then reselling it for minor profits on craigslist (I'm assuming it would be active with fresh offers).

Franklin, how long does it take to get to the plateu? I mean, I have a great product which brings in huge ROI atm. But I know it probably won't be forever. There's limited amount of people in the targeted audience so the price per conversion will increase. I just don't know when to expect it to happen. Thanks for your insight

Facebook paused my advertising due to unusual payment activity.. I used this situation before ,but now I opened a case to get response from facebook support, it's already 6th day but no response, do someone knows a way to contact with them beside of that ?
