I would asume so,
Just send a e-mail to your country's tax office and they will give you an answear.
All I had to do was to put in my business ID on Amazon. But I think something like this depends alot on the country as Amazon has different rules with different countries.

I was one of those people who were starting to invest into it and my income went up month by month, albeit slowly. I started at $30 a month on the old system, then the more books I published, it went up and up. The month before the changes, my payout was $260 for that month, and I had 5 other books ready to launch. After the changes, I went a month to see what my payout under the new system was, and it was $35, so I went wide, and that failed big time. I made even less. I went back to select and changed my pricing and while they never sell as much as before, this month I am up to $70.

My book rankings are awful compared. Generally I was in the 20k range, now I am in the 100k range. Oh well.

I kinda gave up, but now I am thinking of trying to get back in. I just don't feel like writing a 50k word book and have it flop. Erotica is all but dead for me, I make maybe 3% of my income from that now, and before I made 70%, so I am not doing that genre anymore.

I still feel it is "viable", but now requires a lot more work to get things rolling again. A lot of people have probably given up too, it's no longer ezpz money if you are building things up. If you're already established the hit was probably not too bad, but for us guys who were in the early stages of establishing our books now we have to work realllllllly hard. I'll be happy if I can get back up to $250 a month, but I know I will have to start writing a lot more content.

Because I tried allsorts myself and have kids series written past 12 months and I tried Instagram to get people to buy and nothing at all. Also Youtube posting on kids books etc. I cant understand people. I guess the press have to print your books and people are like sheep then like Harry Potter.

I even tried an erotica novel with very similar title to that Fifty Shades but different of course and not one sale even putting it on Createspace.

Its not that I have aweful covers or crap stories they are pretty up there.

Now I am just trying to get a publisher. But a note on that publisher agents get on your tits as you dont hear anything at all for like months on end or not at all and you want to move forward.

I'm making money and growing month after month just like before, but I don't even want to think about how much money I would make with the old system since the new system doesn't benefit me at all. My books are in the 100-150 KENP pages lenght and that's not even close to what I would have made on them with the old system.

Sales are going good though, all of my books are alive even my first book from April sells a few copies a day.
But I'm happy with the business, if you go back to this thread in the start of the year you will see my noobie questions, barely getting answears.
But I took action and I project to make atleast $4000 a month by December this year.

How are you doing Gringo? And all the other veterans that I liked to read about in this thread when I started out

Recent posts seem to suggest that the true authors and experts on a topic are actually getting rewarded for their efforts, rather than internet marketers just gaming the system. It gives me a lot of confidence in getting started.

So after a bit of rejigging of content and bundling stories together I am now able to get a typical KENPC of 1500+ for each of my books enrolled in KDP Select. So a full read nets me about $7.50 as opposed to the old flat rate of circa $1.35.

I JV/have publishing deals with a number of people/business' and all in we will probably hit $3 million in the year July 2015 - June 2016. The vast majority of that comes from fiction.

For KDP select titles the key is now page count not volume of books or if you really want to coin it in do both! But your better having 1 book with 500 pages than 10 with 50 as it is easier to get 1 person to read 1 book. Then you scale that book by adding more pages so existing readers go back to it and then into a series of books.

I design the book - if you like provide an overview. Everything else is outsourced to ghostwriters with me just managing it. I am really more a publisher than an author now.

On pretty much all marketing forums, there are people posting about their decreased sales. Much of the Kindle players apparently focused on making money off KU through its (previously generous) per download system. The solution is simple: focus on SELLING your book.

Depends on niche, but unless you publish kids books, I wouldn't go under 45 pages. My books are all between 15-25k words which is about 60-120 pages depending on formating. I want all my books to be over 100 pages soon as I up my budget for getting books written. It still costs me alot to create the books I do because I only hire good writers from english speaking countries. In general, look at your competition and you will see what the shortest book have and you will see the average, and then you can decide what length you can compeat with.

Had an idea to make my own novel (already have the idea) but it just seems an impossible task. I'm bad with getting what i see and hear in my head onto writing. If i could, i'd probably have cranked it out already. Would probably be a sci-fi hit. Anyone can write well, hit me up.

I have about 100 books on Amazon i do not make that much money but on the other hand I stop market them but it is a steady income. It is a real pain in the bum to edit each book when you make a new one and have to edit each book. 100 books edit 100 books for the 101 title.

I use different pen names for each different niche/topic. I then write numerous, related books related to that first book. Customers see my name pop up on similar books. I link to my other books inside my book at the end, so they find them there too. Apparently it works: just got a review today saying they're recommending the book to their friends and they're checking out the other books by the same author (me).

If you're publishing a series, make sure you CROSS PROMOTE each of your books.
