Are you talking about a site like retailmenot.com ? I think its a profitable market if its for a different country then US, UK, Canada & Australia. Try targeting the countries with competition.

Here is an advice: make a facebook page with your best match keyword in it. That page will rank on SERPS faster and higher than a usual blog. Then use that page to post coupons and sales and stuff. It worked for me.

how about a amazon coupon site? you can get plugins that show the latest coupons for amazon and they update automatically
