How the hell does one make money from PPV?

In ppv,
it is very important to update your bid to the highest, because thats were most of the leads come from.
and to lander is better than direct linking.
also did you not get even one lead or got very few leads?
by the way ,what is "to lander " means?
some kind of landing pages?

Most people put up landing pages to see if they can get better conversion rates. There are a number of factors that can help with conversions, some of them are just simple page loads. Sometimes the redirected link can take a long time to load and as such people close the window before it actually loads completely.

I have found in some of my testing that if you have a pre-sales lander you can often get a better conversion rate. But I usually wait until I convert with the original affiliate link first.

Another thing that can help is if you continuously change the converting landing page after it becomes a little stale and conversions start to drop off.

photoads,

PPV works.

Don't forget to use rotators to test faster and like it has been mentioned above...you want to be the highest bidder to really give your offer a good test. If you don't reach your CPA goal, then, is time to move on to the next one...

With the amount of traffic you get from some of the PPV networks, you should be able
to find something that sticks, in short order.

Just don't fall in love with an offer and spend more advertising dollars than you should.
Cut the fat quick and stick with the converters, they will stand out like a sore thumb.

One last thing, like someone has suggested, create your own lander after you've found a winner, that way you can keep the offer fresh.

what bout the good old squeeze page with opt in before redirect to affl. offer?,
that way you collect at least value for long run?

some say the user agent passing through has hurt conversions but i talked to an 'expert' and he said thats not the case.......

Was watching the ppv formula vid (which you can find http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/member-downloads/79664-get-pay-per-click-formula.html has ppc and ppv) and he says the same shit.
rotate 10 offers track and see which do well.
take the top one throw all you got at it and rack in the millions lol or slightly less

In order to succeed with ppv you must TRACK your campaigns. So if you're using trafficvance then have your own 3rd party ad server (ex. Zedo) then you track to see what publishers are converting the traffic and remove the ones that aren't.

Also, with ppv campaigns, you have to look at ATLEAST 100,000 ppv to TEST.

Let me begin by reinforcing a few points made earlier in the thread:

Tracking is THE KEY to PPV. Without your own tracking, you are trying to hit a target 100 yards away with buckshot, whereas once you get the converting keywords you are shooting a sniper rifle instead.

DO NOT USE NETWORK TRACKING!

They can and do steal your keywords! The main reason that they open up these types of sites to the public is to get campaign ideas! All of these backends use to be private but PPV is so powerful that they could not possibly create enough campaigns to use its power, so they instead made a publisher program and they siphon keywords.

Track keywords, and rotate offers and track performance on offers too. I can't tell you how many times I have spent hundreds on a campaign and was about to give up on it when I tried a new offer and my conversions went through the roof! PPV is about both keywords AND offers/landers. You need to have good tracking to discover the best combination of everything.

Like someone said above, you can always create your own lander once you find an offer that converts well.
Just don't fall in love with an offer and spend more advertising dollars than you should.

Here are a few basic techniques that I use:

  • The competition smack-talk technique
    • Target your competition's websites AND search keywords. Pop up your lander that slams that specific site and outline the features or benefits that make your site better! Unethical maybe, but converts.
  • The shotgun approach
    • throw up as many keywords and offers as you can in one campaign, and spend money until one of them makes you money. risky, but you need a lot of keywords or a high traffic keyword to make money in PPV
WARNING!
DO NOT BID ON HIGH LEVEL DOMAINS

If you bid on myspace.com or google.com, you'd be surprised at the amount of traffic it will bring, but it will be irrelevant traffic that will most likely not convert. Although these send mad traffic, you will be even MORE surprised when you run out of funds within mere minutes.

Good luck,
Doc War

doctorwar hit the spot!

tracking is key. and NEVER, never, never use in house tracking. always your own script.

track every single keyword and url seperatly. you have to know how many views and conversions every keyword and url had by itself. ditch the ones that don`t perform and keep the few winners you will have. the winners will make up for your test loses over and over.

and rotate offers to speed up the testing proces and keep your spending in controll...

people who are afraid to burn cash and give up when they are down 500$ schouldn`t start with ppv. you have to be really lucky to find big winners from the start. ppv is all testing testing testing.

but when you hit a winner, your cpa accounts will explode ;)

Also, with ppv campaigns, you have to look at ATLEAST 100,000 ppv to TEST.
Thanks for the no. bobby.

100,000 x $0.015 = $1,500. That's a lot of money to spend testing which just shows that this business isn't for the faint hearted. A few PPV courses make it sound as if this business is the ultimate shortcut to wealth.

What kind of conversion rates are normal in PPV?

I just started this week... more than 1400 clicks and no sales

i would take that with a grain of salt, since adware is considered spyware.

Also I wouldnt even think about going into it since most adware companies have gone bust in the last few months.

I hate to say it, but PPV via adware is dead, which is what seems the OP is doing.

look into something like adwords and PPC, thats where the future is.

PPC == the "future"? :)

I dont trust PPV at all, everything where you HAVE TO PAY FIRST for me is a SCAM. I want to MAKE money not throw $1000 down some scammer's companies throat.
There are too many uncertainities and grayzones with PPV - and i STILL want to see the posting where someone claims hes making A LOT OF MONEY with cpa + ppv. Instead, i am reading about people wasting money and dont really have success with it.

This being said, i might stay with PPC.....but PPC is so old, hardly "the future" :)

well,I spent more than $500 for testing.

But i got nothing...
Thats my saga too - thanks for the good advice here guys I think I will revisit TV. Still never got there software to work on my PC

it's all about compounding your monetary interests...don't use JUST cpa ads...you are paying for that click...and you get to target exactly where they are on the internet at any give time...make as much usage of each of those clicks as you possibly can. If you just throw up CPA popups and hope people click on them you are going to lose a lot of money.

i never used keywords, just urls.

i never understood how they targeted keywords, so you don`t have control on where your ad shows up. (maybe someone else knows how they do it)

just hit your free trail acai berry cpa to weight loss blogs, credit card offers to the mastercard and visa website etc etc, you get the picture.

track everything and see what cpa works on wich website, keep that and dump the rest. target the inner pages of a website.

isn`t rocket sience, just test and track, test and track and test and track again.

also a good url scraper is a must have. makes life much easier.
always have the highest bid and set the time to rehit a user to 24 hours, not a week.

ppv isn`t a short track to wealth, its hard work. just like ppc, seo and everything else.

Could you recommend a good scraper? I've tried a couple Laser URL but the tutorials put me to sleep and got kind of confused. I got a simple keyword driven one that came with UWCS and that thing just goes all over the place.

So what is it all about? You take a e.g. CB offer and create a lander for it. Then you drive in traffic via PPV to that lander and you hope that somebody buys the offer you affiliate. But how do you target your views you buy? And whats a scrapper?
Thanks :)
