hey guys Darkparagon here I have been a member of the BHW community on and off for almost two years now. Since I have never really posted a proper thread. I thought it was about time I contribute to the community and post my first real meaningful thread on the topic of how I made almost $1,000 on Youtube.
So how did I do it?
A year or two before I made this YouTube Channel I had many others where I tried to make some $$$, buy uploading my own content such as guides for games, fails, car turbo/race compilations. But after 1 month I had 10+ videos per channel. My most viewed video had only 80 views
After this I realized that maybe getting YouTube views and subscribers wasn't that easy. So like everything else in my life if I don't see results immediately I give up, lose motivation and move onto another method.
6+ months down the track I decided to give YouTube another go, but I couldn't find a method which interested me. In between searching for a method/guide I was watching one of my favorite youtubers, who is now has one of the biggest channels on YouTube, while watching one of his/her videos it hit me, this is how I can make some easy money.
Instead of uploading videos of random clips I made, why not make a YouTube channel with a name as similar to the famous youtuber as i can get. I would do this because they already had such a huge audience who know who he/she was. (e.g if the channel was called XxJohnny123 I would make a channel called XxJohny123) So when people who are subscribed to him/her would watch one of my videos they would be like "hmmm I thought I was already subscribed to him/her? argh stupid youtube!" *clicks subscribe. After I made the channel i would get the exact same profile picture and cover art. Before I could even upload my first video i had a couple subscribers!!
Now came to the video uploading, to download his/her video in 1080 in the address bar after the http://www. i would put "ss" so if the video's url was http://www.youtube.comwatch?v=12345 I would change it to http://www.ssyoutube.comwatch?v=12345
doing this would allow me to directly download the video in as high quality as possible, while my video was uploading i'd add the exact same description and add my own cheeky G2A ref code link in there among his/her other links such as other videos/Twitter/Facebook e.t.c. and monitise the video so I can make some cash from the ads.
Everything was going so smoothly I was extremely happy, then I reached my first few hurdles, I noticed that the video successfully uploaded but the monitisation request was denied so the videos had no ads on it, I also noticed that the video had a HUGE amount of dislikes and only a few likes, the comment section was also filled with comments saying "Fake account" "this isnt the real channel" "scammer!!!" So I locked the video and deleted it.
How was I going to over come this problem? if I were to change the comments to only post approved comments so I would only approve the comments from people who thought this was the real channel, then that would fix the comment/dislike problem as for the video getting rejected for having ads, this took a lot more thought and a bit of trial and error. i found that I can get around this problem but continuing to try and reupload the same video until it gets accepted on average I had to upload and delete the video 3 - 5 times, but sometimes it would work the first try
after I overcame this issue i started to download heaps of his/hers videos, but wait if I mass upload 10+ videos of this person a higher percent of people are going to think the channel is fake, so I only would 1 video every couple of days, keep it locked and if needed delete and reupload until it gets accepted for ads. I was doing this for a couple of weeks then stopped for 2 months due to a holiday, came back home forgot about the channel and found it a while later to see the channel had 10k+ subs and 400k+ views, so I went back to uploading his/her videos.
fast track to now and the channel currently has 30 videos uploaded, just under 35k subs, 2.1 million views and over $850 earned from ads not including the cash I earned from my ref link in G2A. I haven't uploaded in the past month and probably wont upload any more as I am lacking determination and looking for something else maybe bigger to get my teeth stuck into. I will just check it every now and then to see how my earnings are going,
So there it is guys this is how I made almost $1,000 from YouTube maybe next time I log into the channel I would have passed the 4 digit mark. I hope this thread gave you guys some ideas about how you can make some extra cash on YouTube and maybe add your own secret twist to give you the upper hand.
