Former Affiliate Manager Here Spilling CPA Secrets

obvious question : what are ways that you've seen people get around the shaving or any other shit that cpa companies do? will a tracking pixel placed by affiliate company on sales conversion page be trustworthy?

Buddyboy... I'm assuming you no longer work with the network anymore. Were you forced to sign something to secrecy as your reason for not exposing what network or what?

"For screwing me over I thought I could best get them back by turning over trade secrets to you."

There are hundreds of networks. I know for a fact that some of the things you say are not done by some networks. If you're really trying to screw them, tell us what network so we can "help you."

CL. The reason they ban CL is because they want exclusive access. Most of what you see on Craigslist is the CPA network itself, so in a sense you are competition to them.

That is 110% believable!
Back in the mid to late 1990's many Adult Affiliate programs did the same EXACT thing with AOL.
They would cancel affiliates for spamming AOL ,via mail,IM,Chat, etc.
However, the owners of the same exact programs were spamming the shit out of AOL themselves.

I have no point of reference for other networks. If I tell you the network then I alert them and yes, confidentialty agreements are part of the contract. And yes, if they sue over anything it is those. In response to fighting back shaving what I can tell you is that the tracking pixels we hear about are misdirection. The shave happens in the redirect from the affiliate link to the main link. The amazing part is that the system is calibrated to give you the click even though the lead is boosted from you.

Interesting that there is confidentiality agreements... Other than bypassing shaving (which doesn't really screw the network anyways), what can you hope to accomplish by spilling the beans? Perhaps someone will launch their own personal investigation leading to a large scale investigation?

That could be interesting.

This network spent a lot of effort to try to keep people like you from getting your money. You deserve your earnings. What do I gain? I shine a light on deceptive practices and maybe help clean up the networks. I also learn valuable information here.

And what's the cut of the AM's on the networks? How much do they get per sale/lead, and from the shavings?

I don't want to sound rude but non of this is new (or at least should be new) to anybody who's been on BHW for more than a month. Thanks for sharing but maybe some more information on avoiding detection would be helpful.

The whole 20 bad leads though is BS or nobody here would be earning any money. I guarantee even doing 100% whitehat if I were to push 10,000 conversions to an email or short form submit a good 10% min would be a bad lead and I've only been banned by one network for lead quality (see

and that's because they thought my white hat lead quality was to good lol.

I'm not saying the post is without use. It does help scare noobs away from trying to do BH methods thus making it easier for those who do BH to make money. While saving Aff. networks millions in paid commissions.

What do you mean exactly by "bad lead"? Do you mean doing offers yourself? Having a friend fake it with a VCC?

I guess what I'm getting at, the software GodCPA, where the whole ad is hidden except for the entry for the email/zip/etc and submit button, and so users submit and don't even see the ad. Is that a bad lead or can you guys see that in some way?

i wonder why they need to ban CL leads if its converting.. they dont need to shave if the leads are converting

and buddyboy what do you guys do if you know that someone is gonna

sue your network for banning and not paying thousand of dollars to affiliates???

do you guys care about that?

I'll have to agree with Mad on this one! This is info that any semi-advanced BH will know. It's not really a "secret".

Because they want to make those leads themselves, they don't want to give you the share, when they can do it by themselves

If you fraud your leads you can't complain, you're just digging your own grave, aswell as causing problems for other whitehat affiliates.

I think the only reason people are so attracted to BH methods is because its a tabboo. There is a hell of a lot more money to be made using WH techniques, and it's less of a headache.

About bad leads, 20 if that represents the majority. Out of 100, no ban, out of thirty, bye. Arbitrary. A lead is bad if no contact is made with the person who filled it out. Conversions are different. Say for a debt consolidation lead, send 10-20 real unique people that answer the phone and you should be fine. Google conversion rates for different industries. If the conversion rate on debt consolidation is five percent, you can send 19, as we do not keep track of conversion rates unless they are complained about. Only lead legitimacy. Then move on to other offers. Here is a tip: jconnect.com Grab a phone number, and return the voicemail.

So would a lead be called good if they answer the phone but cancel the rebill?
How many cancelled rebill leads could you send if they answer the phone
before you get the boot?

Good info buddyboy - so what are your plans now? Are you doing AM yourself? Woudl you use the network knowing your way around there system? You say
The shave happens in the redirect from the affiliate link to the main link. The amazing part is that the system is calibrated to give you the click even though the lead is boosted from you.
Would they happen to be using direct track?

guys do not get scared by such posts, this is BHworld, keep doing BH methods, those techniques are fucking awesome :)

Well done BH earns you money, no tabboo in that. :p

hopefully it's not as bad with other types of offers besides email submits

Not to mention that there's a way around everything - I can still get the free iphone submits like a MOFO.

It is in fact a nice reminder though to anyone that didn't already cross that bridge that there are a number of variables involved when doing BH/cpa. All have been discussed at one time or another here, nice to have some insider validation for those who needed it. If in fact you are who you are....

great post, as stated previously you should write an ebook , lol, I'll buy it

In a way it is a known secret that both sides are skimming, so in a frank way we should expect affiliates to "skimm"/BH as we know networks do it ( even 100% legit leads)

I did ton of debt leads while back for little fortune, as i have lead generation / broker biz I had access to actual leads not BS Incentives, did a mix of good an bad leads (old self submit) ,sometimes was getting leads at $1.00 submit it to 4 places and receive almost $50 back.

the key is to spread out offers and networks and mix legit leads, get a $20 prepaid phone , watch CTR%, Conversions etc, throw some fake traffic, real traffic etc, and MOSTLY do not become greedy , stay under the radar !

after a while you either get greedy, screw stupid things up, or it gets too complicated. at that point you learned enough to generate legit leads.
