Computer just cashed out. Should I get an iMac?

My comp is like 6 years old. I have always used windows but have been thinking of getting iMac since I have iPhone and iPad. Plus everyone I talk to that has them love them. are they worth it? 3k. Also are they good for IM?

You will look awesome in starbucks with the full apple kit, however you can forget about IM tools.

They do look pretty though and also everyone will know you can afford one which is very nice.

I suggest you stay with Windows. Get an i5 cpu, 16 gigs of ram, ssd, and you're good to go.

But price vise, hardware vise, etc apple is a ripoff. For that price you can buy a fucking beast.

All link building tools (Gsa, Scrapebox, Xrumer, Zennoposter and few others) are made for Windows, not for Mac.
If you want something nice on your desk go for mac.
If you want to run some tools on this - go for PC.
Btw - $1k is enough for good PC, for $2k you save you can rent 2 dedicated servers for a year.

Your not really limited. Just buy an 2gb ram VPS for running windows only stuff on it.

Or you could dual boot your mac or use an virtualbox

If you need to buy a VPS or run your tools with VB this is an oblivious limitation.

Thats true, just telling the possibilitys for him. I am not in need of an vps because I only code & design. Only reason I have a vps if for FollowLiker.

You could always dualboot your Mac If you really need windows software.

The people that love them aren't using much resource heavy program or if they are they haven't gone out and researched various parts for a DIY pc vs mac.

With a custom pc, you can spend more money in areas where you need faster speeds and less in areas that aren't needed so much.

i currently only have access to a mac and it gets pretty annoying not being able to use half the programs i would on my pc, and to top it all off macs have much less ram and memory compared to pcs of the same price
