Amazon Authority Website Journey to € 1000 a Day - 100% Outsourced

What? I'm not using expired domains, where did you read it? lol
\ Ok I cracked up too :D
The website I'm using for this journey is 2 months old and actually ranks in first and second page for 190+ keywords
I'm too embarking on my Amazon niche site but for the start it wouldn't be as huge as yours. I think I might have to work on it harder and pump out more content. I will be going against e-commerce giants ranking top. I applied the same logic which you talked about, the page itself having low or null backlinks therefore must be easier to rank. Even though I've read in the past they are ranked solely on their domain authority but fuck it, I'm going to test and will outrank those mofos.

Day 10
Google Traffic: 202 UV
Earnings: € 0,00 (some products ordered)
Total Articles: 152 (+6)

Today I fired three copywriters and I found other 2. Were really lazy and handed material so slow, I hope the new respect better deliveries.
Nothing special today, other orders as usual and I'm waiting for feedback from Amazon for the buttons and the images on the site.

The site continues to grow and traffic is growing every day :)

UPDATE
Today I received the response from Amazon's support team and this button respects the rules of the Affiliate Program
It is not the original from Amazon.

I am in the process of creating my first amazon site too. Now after 2 months keywords start to rank and I am seeing about 50 UV from google and increasing. I haven't monetized my site yet, not even apply for amazon. I am thinking of trying another affiliate network because all page one is full of amazon affiliates. So I am thinking that if I monetize with another network (btw it just gives 5% but it has a one-month cookie) I will gain more sales coming from people who can't decide in just one day (products are ranging from 200$ to 1500$+, they are not cheap) and from people that would click on another amazon link after visiting my site so I would lose the commission. What's your opinion about this?

Well, in my experience really depends from which keyword traffic comes.
It is true that the decision-making process does not always happen in a day but if you can create an effective content, creating true value, you can speed up this process.
If the content is well done, on the first day the person is informed, the second will be curious and the third pass from your site to place the order.

Try to think if you're looking for something and find interesting content!
Well, before purchase, there is a great probability that you skim from there to confirm the characteristics, so to see if the product is really what you want.

The goal is just that, make your content essential for making the purchase decision :)

A recent case study by Bing, has demonstrated how people can take up to 90 days before buying.
So you can have all the cookies of this world but the important thing is to hook people with a really good content!

Value is the real cookie and never expires

It's not only the 30-day cookie that got me thinking.
It's the fact that I would be the only one using this store as every competitor works with amazon.
So, if someone gets to that store through me and decides to buy from that store and not from amazon (FYI the other network I am talking about is not
some crappy random eshop; It's a huge well known company in the niche I am in, so some people might actually prefer it over amazon) there is no way
that I "lose my cookie" if he decides to read more reviews from the competitors. I hope this makes sense. The plus for amazon is that I can work with other countries too and the higher %fee.

Well, this could be solved if I could use both links. Is it allowed by Amazon TOS though? Anyway, for now I should just go with amazon until I have enough traffic to worry about conversions.

Speaking of conversions, what is the average for amazon sites from your experience? I have some traffic right now (50 UV from buying keywords only: like best product for the money, best product under $xxx etc) but I don't know if I should apply for amazon yet, since I want to add more content to play it safe and avoid rejection.
Right now I have about 45 pages. More than half of these are informational pages (how to, guides) or blog posts and the other are "product review" and "best product" type.
A few are about 500+ words, most are like 1000+ words and some are 3k-5k words.

I am building also an amazon site, will follow several steps for sure.

Op, what is the average length of the articles?

I just saw an awesome video who talked about authority websites and the guy mentioned, content written by "professional" writers from 1 niche and who only know the best stuff from 1 niche are the best articles.

Here is the basic principle the guy from the "webinar" talked about:
1. Find quality product to promote (becomes your own products over time).
2. Find keywords people search for before buying.
3. Create top content that both helps and presells.
4. Promote that content to earn traffic (Becomes your community over time)
Example:
Paleo recipes ebook
Keyword:
Easy paleo recipes
Content:
7 Easy Paleo Recipes You Can Cook in 5 Minutes
Promotion:
Promote & link building

You really CAN'T make 1000 euros a day!

I love people like you because they allow people like me to surprise people like you lol
You gave me even more motivation, then today I begin the link building in order to rank all keywords as soon as possible!

Op, what is the average length of the articles?

Well my articles are from 500 to 1000 words (most 500). I'm targeting really small keywords and 500 words articles are paying off :)
I look much what is best for users. In my niche there is the "hit and run" and for this reason I'm creating fast and short contents (in any case not omitting nothing).

This is a very interesting journey, i wish i can learn something from this. I also hope to see this journey's success in the future. Subscribed. :D

About how many keywords do you target per post?

I'm targeting only one main keywords and all relevant variations of it with at least 20 searches per month.

Keyword: product X

I'm targeting
product X discount
product X price
product X cheap
product X with Y
product X for Z

Thank You.

Im sure you will hit your goal. You already have the method mastered, its just a matter of time :)

Speaking of conversions, what is the average for amazon sites from your experience?

People usually get 5%-10% conversion as seen in Amazon Affiliate control panel. Mine's currently around 7.5%.

That said, I don't think the conversion is essential meter. Because it doesn't tell anything about volume of sales or price of items. You can have great conversion (>10%) but only from selling cheap Ebooks, so the total revenue is pennies. Or you can have great conversion and expensive item but only very low volume (without any ways to grow it), so your revenue is still pennies.

The better metrics to look at is the earnings per visitor. IMO, getting around $0.1 is OK and $0.15 or more is great.

Conversion says how effective your communication is, so it is always important to look at it.
In my opinion the best metric is EPC (Earnings Per Click) and mine has an average of € 0,15.

This means that every user clicks on an Amazon link gives me on average € 0,15 in commissions (and click an Amazon link is much easier than on AdSense banner).

Sure, sure, they're all OK metrics. But the "king" is ROI. Everything else doesn't matter IMO if your ROI sucks. You'll use either time or money, so calculating ROI is trivial. If you're putting in your own time, it's easy and smart to calculate hourly rate you're making and think if you're happy with that.

...And I must say, with these Amazon sites I am :D

Hey argan, I'm inspired by your journey, and I'm trying to start my own website. But I'd like to have your opinion about this thing. Correct me if I'm wrong. So when user click on your aff link, the cookie will exist for the next 24h, so that any order made by user after 24h will not be recognised as coming from our affiliate site. Then come the combine order. Basically, the user will do the shopping on our website, and when they click check out, they will be redirected to amazon, and the orders from our website will merge into amazon. And even if user won't finish their order, the cookie will stay for 90 days.
As I remember, some article said that customer may take 30 days to make up their mind to buy something, so 90 days cookie will be something.
My thought is that I have the normal blog (like yours), but there will be a shop page, so from our blog, instead of lead user to amazon, I'll lead user to my shop.
The shop page can be: a page with the same domain, a wordpress instance on a subdomain, or a wordpress instance with different domain.
What's your opinion about this idea?

I am investing so little and so slowly that my ROI is positive from the outset.
I'm working on the site 30 minutes a day (the time to prepare and optimize the images) so in my case the ROI is useless to calculate general performance.

Yes that's good for the theory. You can try it but this is the way to go.

Your Website --> Amazon's Cart page

In my opinion you lose conversions when you insert a page in the middle as this:
Your Website --> Shop Page --> Amazon's Cart page

I suggest you try and let us know. I will also do this kind of test :)

I know you like your big data, and you have word stats installed, so how about you calculate your earnings per word? That would be interesting to see :)

Day 11
Google Traffic: 276 UV
Earnings: € 14,46
Total Articles: 153 (+1)

As you can see it is like a scale, the time that Google decides to give more confidence and the website climb with visits!
Today I had to reorganize copywriters' work because few writers had become lazy, tomorrow I will restore the same publication rhythm of the previous days (on average 8/10 articles per day).

Backlinks
Thanks to the Janiene's "motivational" post I began to apply my link building strategy and today I got a PR4 backlink from authority website in my niche.
That website has 90K pages indexed and is ranking for 10K keywords (according to SemRush).
I do not like metrics from Moz but for the most curious is a DA: 50 and PA: 58 and tomorrow I will do my best to get other backlinks like this.

How I managed to get it?
I downloaded with Majestic Seo a full backlinks' report from many websites in my niche.
Then I contacted few webmasters saying that on my site I offer many guides to inform consumers.
"It is not just to display prices but also to create content for comparing products that we actually tested" (this one fake)

So, after few hours of mails, one webmaster decided to place a link in related post that was already online (I have not written a single word of content).
From what I see that works, when I'm sending emails, I must be persuasive and praise my project, trying to make people understand that it has value, not just a list of links to Amazon.

It is nothing special but I hope you have been inspired :)
