Hi,
I've just launched one month ago my flashlight application on the google store, you can find me at sparte flashlight on google store.

For now I have around 1560 intalls that I mainly buyed my self with fiverr services (Yes I know, it's a TRAP).
My admob made me something around 7$ and I invested something like 350$ in marketing and applications downloads.
I know, it's nothing but I keep faith and started to developp other applications .For my first real I application I learned a lot and will do better for my next application.

Ask me any question if you want to start in the android game.

350.00 invested is not bad at all for an App.

For what period of time did the 7.00 come back to you in return?

One month...I meant it's nothing in comparison of what I earned.

But flashlight is hard, I guess I should only focus to rank in one country

So you just bought downloads ?!

Tell me more about your marketing on this app !

That is not bad if you extrapolate things out... that is a decent return on 350.00 for starters and, should you continue to increase your rankings, your revenue should increase as well.

I bought something like
- 1400 downloads (so on 1500 I got 100 natural downloads.)
- 3000 google +1
- 3 share on facebook with 2 million fans on each account (not a lot of results ~10 downloads from there)
- Some poor pr4 Blog post backlinks (I saw that it could be good for aso )
- Diverse ads

I hope .I also saw that having many applications published on one account helps ranking.

Does someone ever used bots for ranking??Did you get results?

I have recently tried making a Flash light app, just for the learning purposes. Worked great. But Java isnt my thing I guess.

Whatever, Now what you have to do is, Get all the words, if any converted to other languages and upload language versions. Flash Light may be called something else in some other language. A bit of extra income that you might get, for almost no extra work.

I think that it is quite good idea to develop an APP. Try to rank those for some keywords, which have low search per month. It can give you traffic from SEO.

I don't think language is important for flashlight because there not very much words in it, just features.I already translated all titles and all descriptions for every countries.Beside I think like you said that creating a simple app like flashlight one teach you a lot about the android world and how to promote an app.But it's very hard to fight against companies that have tons of downloads and huge money income to rank in developped countries. It's better to focus on one small country to get a good rank and then natural downloads.

Hi,

7$ is not bad at all. You probably need to optimize keywords and localize the app for specific GEO.
Also go for long tails.

Yes but wich country to target?I've seen that USA TOP 10 is way harder than UK Top 10 to get in (and both still impossible for small budget). So I am looking for the best country : not to hard to rank but with the biggest audience possible.:bubblegum

I would stop wasting money on promoting a basic app.
Now, that you are not noob, you can develop something new and you already know how to promote it.

Flash light is too generic. A lot of devices have it by default, so why would the user look for a new one?

Up to you. I would move to the next app.

Just, IMHO

Good luck its fierce
you have to have extreme luck like Flappy guy

BIG GUNS are moving in now as Candy Crush etc make a billion a year for them

yes I've just created a new app on the android store getting much results. In any case, I can still sell it on flippa so easy to win money on it.
