All About Facebook?

Hi there,

I've seen that both BroBible and Celebuzz have amassed large facebook followings and are able to then shove content (articles with ads) down news feeds to make lots of money. I've started my own facebook page and after running a 50 dollar ad campaign had these questions:

1. About how many followers would you realistically need on Facebook to make significant income through CPC (3k/month)?

2. Are facebook pages like Brobible, Celebuzz, and The Chive selling shout outs in the same way that big name Instagram accounts sell shout outs?

3. Lastly, I bought Facebook ads in order to get page likes. A buddy of mine was saying that Facebooks algorithm only shows your FB posts to a small portion of your followers. You would need to gain followers, and then pay to boost your posts for the followers you just paid for to even see your content. Is this true?

Depends on how active your fans are, if they like your brand and if they are willing to interact with you.

I had a facebook page with 10k likes (gaming niche) where I posted funny images and also gave away some stuff and they loved me.
I reached 5-50k people per post, because they all liked & shared alot.

But yeah, fb pages like this are uncommon, on most pages I reach 100-400 per 1k fans on an average.

Facebook algorithm shows their users what they love to see.

If your fans click on your posts alot, spend time on your fb page or interact with your page / posts you wont need to boost posts to reach them.

If I initially boost my posts and then engagement picks up, will my posts that I don't boost begin picking up engagement because people have shown interest in my page? Also, are Facebook ads the best way to get Facebook likes or is it better to get shouted out by bigger blogs/ fb pages

Yes, if your fans show interest, your following posts will pick up engagement.

Facebook ads will always give you the most reliable likes.
But depending on your niche/topic, getting shouted out can work too - and might be the cheaper way to grow fast.

1. Income depends on your niche, your website's content (text's or images) and your audience. For an idea one of my friend earns ~$2000 from his ~260000 real active followers with humour based website.

2. I don't know much about the pages you mentioned, but i saw some big pages selling posts (shout outs).

3. Yes what your friend said is true, as above people said your post reach % will be around 10 to 20% and you need to boost your post if you want to reach more people. Number of people reached depends on how much you spend to reach your followers.

If you are jumping into facebook make sure you have good money to spend. The pages you mentioned above started many years before facebook updates its algorithm to reach followers. I haven't saw any successful page who managed to get followers with only help of FB add and getting good ROI. If you are planning to promote affiliate products then promote it directly via facebook ad, diverting them to your page then to your offer hardly work.
If you really want to get into social media then focus of pinterest or instagram. They are new|easy|more engaging than facebook.

I'm also curious how Brobible pulls this off. They got a traffic ranking of 3000 with incredibly stable traffic and they got over 600k fans. However, when I check their FB page, most of their posts get only 20 likes, which makes me wonder how much "real" fans they got. Does anyone have an idea how they get so much traffic?

Depends on how active your fans are, if they like your brand and if they are willing to interact with you.
