322LB bench press my new record :D

Eagle? That sir....is a Hawk.

But yeah not quite sure what your getting at lol, OP Lifted 142kg, i look forward to the day he reaches 260kg

146 an probably 150 in the next two week. But I will never get to 260, maybe just maybe if I'm lucky 190

Maybe now learn that you've out grown your terrible gym and upgrade to somewhere with an actual olympic bar?

Its not that terrible, its small, its old school and half of the guys there are really strong, we have one that can bench actually 190kg

From one side 6 big plates each 10kg one 5kg plate one 2 kg plate and one 1kg plate = 68kg from one side 68kg x 2 = 136 kg and the bar is 10kg because its not olympic bar (20kg)
everything summed up 146kg

Thanks, makes perfect sense.

I normally don't max out anymore due to how many times I've hurt my lower back (mostly thanks to shrugs, not press). But my best press day was 255lb (I'm a short dude at 5' 4", 162lbs). My brother has gotten up to 305, he's a pretty strong dude so 322 is a crazy good lift.

From what I know and have seen, anything over 250 is better than most dudes at the gym. Anything over 300 puts you in the top 5%. Anything over 400 will make everyone at the gym shit their pants. I've only seen it once in my life (in person) which happened to be a powerlifting competition in prison. Some black guy hit 415 natty and raw with no bands, shirt or anything.

The juice heads love to espouse "it ain't a good press unless it's double your weight or more". But I think less than .05% can actually do that.

According to Wiki, the highest raw press is Eric Spoto at 722lbs.

Then with a shirt is Paul Meeker who hit 1,102lbs or 500kg this past December. That's some crazy crazy shit. Dude basically lifted more than 5, 200lb people or more than half a ton. Only problem I have with the video is I don't see him locking out. :D

I find it entertaining that folks like you spend time lifting heavy weights... (nothing against you, just sayin, it entertains me).

I, on the other hand, sold a car after owning it for just a few days because the power steering was not light enough for my liking.

I don't understand why people try to wear their bodies out... I'm trying to preserve mine, so that I can last 4000-5000 years, at least.
Some people enjoy or are addicted to the feeling they get during or after working out. Others are determined to improve their strength or increase their muscle mass.

Congrats dude! That's actually really impressive. I'm barely struggling to get to 225lbs and here you are pressing 322lbs. ;)

Depends on body type ofc but I think that if you can do the following for even one 1 rep you're in good shape and pretty strong:

Bench 1.5 times you body weight.
Squat 2 times your body weight.
Deadlift 2.5 times your body weight.

You can improve your bench press, but actually you don't need it. I almost never go for maximum x1 rep as I see no point, its just a ego buster ( I admit it ). Sometimes I don't work on the bench press for 2 months or more, I always work with low reps 4-6, 6-8 with the max. I never did get hurt. If you have control over the weight and do it in a good form, its really hard to get hurt.
Most of the guys here are natural except few and he can do a 160kg on bench press. But we have a natural dude that can bench press 190kg.
I my self, I am natural, I only drink protein once after workout ( due to a budget restriction lol )

Dude in this picture is called Scooby. Go to youtube and type in "scooby weightlifting" to find his channel. He has the best non bullshit advise out there for guys that want to lift.

Well done OP. I used to train hard but my chest would crack open like the alien movie if I tried to press that these days.

Used Google sattelites to spy on you :D

Thank you, I believe most of the people who are workoing out can recognize Scooby.

damn the max i can do bench press is 265 LBS lol. Will catch you soon don't worry

PS : i am a vegetarian , so its pretty good weight for me

Your level of success rarely exceeds your level of personal development, because success is something you attract by the person you become. It takes discipline and determination to bench press like op (two important qualities) so kudos to him for his achievement.

Well theres a big difference between a 300lb bench press with shit form and with good form, so just saying you "lifted" it doesnt mean much

Please tell me more about how you live your life perfectly. Also you may want to check out a thing called test driving, assuming that car was new I'm sure you took quite the hit on that few day turnaround sale

How long does it take for someone to get to 320-325 pounds from just starting out?

How long does it take for someone to get to 320-325 pounds from just starting out?

That's really hard to know since strength is relative to so many different factors.

One of those factors being genetics. For instance, this highschool kid pressed 700lbs and broke the Texas record.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gsd5Dasiibs

Then you have highschool kids who are born with great physiques. Like this kid I went to school with. Dude never even lifted his freshman or sophmore year but was somehow bigger and more ripped than 98% of the kids in our class. In fact, so many people made fun of him for being such a "freak" that he started lifting so it seemed more normal. And of course by senior year he blew up so big that the "juicehead" remarks got even worse.

Then there are people like me who've been lifting since 7th grade... I push myself harder than my brother, eat better than him, but can't get close to his size.

I think that comes down not only to genes but subsets of genes like bodytypes. Endomorph, mesomorph and ectomorph, etc.

I'm mostly an endomorph and like 20% ectomorph. I cycled before 2 times just to see what my body would do and sure enough I passed all my natural barriers. I did proper PCT (post cycle therapy). Was eating more than enough calories to maintain that size. Working harder than ever. But 3-5 months later I just shrank right back to my natural size. That bothered me a lot. So a few months later I cycled again. Tried even harder to keep my gains that time and again, lost them all.

Eventually I got so mad I talked to my sister and laws brother. He's a physical trainer, has one of the best physiques I've seen in my life... but I found out later is also a juicehead. This guy is on some form of steroids almost all year round. But I started visiting him at the gym, working out with him, and even though I got shredded I just couldn't get "jacked". We talked about steroids and he confirmed what I suspected. "Unless you wanna be on steroids the rest of your life you might as well just get use to your current size". And that's what I've done.

Anyway, TL:DR version would be: You just gotta workout and find out for yourself. Some guys it might take 6 months, other guys a year, other guys 3 years, other guys (like me) will never press that much naturally.

As long as it takes, but for sure it will take longer then one year. If you have injuries probably never, but believe me if you work hard and smart you can get there.

You have to push your self every day to the max, but smart. You need to have a good training partner, this kind of workouts are dangerous with out a spotter to save you if something goes wrong.

I can tell you this, you muscle will not grow if you don't give them a reason to grow.
