Another Amazon Journey - $100 per day

wow that's amazing... I know one of them is a old domain, what about the other one ? is it new ? and how many articles do you have on the site ?

I have sites with 10-20 articles which are more than 5 months old.. but not making any money :( any tips ?

2 sites that are making money consistently have 15 and 60+ articles published. Something like that. Depends on how big the niche is. I'll add more articles on each site in the future, there's no limit.

You have either chosen a niche that isn't the best, or you haven't done a proper optimization. That's the most common reason.

Can i ask the theme that you use for your Niche site?
Because, I kinda lost in those posts that say this theme was good, that theme was not ...
Thank you :)

You're doing great man, but really great. Good luck with everything. :D

I use different WP theme on almost every site I have.

If niche is really small, I use minimalistic themes. You can't expect to build a regular audience and readers around really small sites, so you gotta have the highest CTR possible and minimalistic themes are great for that (60-80% CTR).

If you aim to get about 1000+ UV on a site per day, it's not such a micro site, so you can get a theme with better design. It will have lower CTR (about 40%), but you will be able to get long-term readers.

Update:

$85 yesterday and about $1400 so far this month, so I'm half way there. I reached 7.5% level of commission, next step is 8.0%, but I must increase the number of sales by 90%. If I'm lucky, it will happen in February / March.

I made plans for 2015 completely, and I'm gonna make some drastic changes in my life and the way that I work. I suggest you all read this thread, I'm sure I'll try to follow some of the steps for more productivity.

Update:

December has ended, happy new year to all of you. Some say December has much higher conversions than other months, but traffic on my 2 best sites has doubled somewhere in the middle of December, so I guess if it stays on that level, I should at least earn the same amount in January, even if conversions drop to 4%, which is realistic.

Total commission in December: $1400.

Site A: $850
Site B: $300
All the rest: $250

Plan is to get Site A to $1500 per month, but I don't want to rape it with more links, so I'll just add more content and search for appropriate KWs once again. Site B could grow to $800 per month and I'll add some links to it in the next few days.

I should finish 5 new sites this month. They should start getting decent money in April/May and whole income should at least double up.

I still have 3 sites with perfect products that have earned $250 in December, but they could all get at least $500 per month. More links + more content should do the trick before summer.

Are all your site custom themes?

Could you provide some tips on how to design an Amazon site to achieve a high CTR?

can you share the silo structure you're using? apparently i've seen different approaches to silo.

What are people clicking? Do you have text and images to click?

It was a very large amount, in my study nice very important.

I send 1 million tayangang on amazon products and convert $ 4.

Because of the traffic mix / spam.

So if you use AdWords to amazon, the conversion of only 0.1%

Adword usually used for branding domain, many people misinterpret, congratulations and good luck with your tread

Depends how big is the site you want to make. If you have only 2-3 strong KWs to target, you can target them all through homepage. If your niche is big, find the top 10 KWs you want to rank for, write 1000+ word articles for each one, publish them as pages on WP and link on them from your homepage. In this case you don't need an EMD domain. If you want to rank for Ferrari F40, history of Ferrari, Ferrari vs Porsche... Write 200+ words of content for each KW on your homepage and link to the subpage.

After you publish the most important money making articles on your site, keep Google's crawler entertained and publish secondary articles every now and then and link to your money articles from them.

Make sure you offer something valuable to your readers and that's it.

I have a different theme on almost every site, and I customize them to attract more clicks usually.

Maximizing CTR is really an easy task. Links on top of the page have higher CTR, but if your content is the best, you will have high CTR if you just blend the links in your content. Otherwise use images, links, attractive text (buy here, check the price, check for discounts...)

Update:

12 ordered items, $33 yesterday (if I reach 7.5% referral rate this month).

I have registered 2 new domains. 1st is similar to Site A and I have used a brand new domain for that. 2nd one is similar to Site B and I have found a perfect 12y old domain for that. I'm gonna follow the same process as with Site B, I will just have to write more content because there are more products to choose from. I hope to publish both sites before this weekend ends.

Everything I do now, will show results in approximately 4 months, so if I want to reach my goal before this summer, I should work like a dog right now. And this is the worst thing about niche sites. Another bad thing is that they can get raped by Google very fast, sometimes without a good reason. So as soon as I reach my goal, I'll dedicate 50% of my work into other things which show results instantly, but they require money to invest.

Site B has ranked itself on a level where it gets me $300+ per month right now and I fully expect that this new site will do the same in 3-4 months. These 2 sites are the smallest ones I have, but they both have potential to earn $500 per month each and conversion rates should be high. This means high number of sold products and this should help me moving up in referral rate.

I alway just publish them article as post instead page

Do you think there's a differences?

Update:

I failed to finish a new site, but I will in the next 2 days. I got everything setup, niche is great, domain is 12 years old and I have done customizing the theme to get higher CTR in the future.

I have sold 45 items so far this month (on Amazon.com) and 10 of them on other Amazons. I just reached 6.5% commission this month and average income per day is about $40 so far from 250 clicks per day. Traffic is on the same level as it was in December, conversions dropped from 6% to 4.2%, but it's still too early to make conclusions. Surprisingly, traffic hasn't dropped since December at all. 1st January was the only day when traffic really dropped for 30%.

I have bought new server and added 3 domains on it so far. Now I want to have GWT and GA accounts on them, but I want to hide my footprints from Google because I'm testing out many different things and there's only a matter of time when I'll get one of my sites sandboxed, so I will probably create a new Google account. I don't need them actually, but GWT improves indexing drastically.

Yahoo sucks.

It would be great to rank my site A on 1st page for main KW. It's getting about 30k monthly searches from targeted countries, that would mean potentially 1000 UV per day from that KW alone (that would also mean $2000 per month from that KW alone). I have checked out rankings on Yahoo for that KW and I'm on #1 spot. Can you guess the traffic I'm getting from Yahoo? A lousy 10 UV per day. This can mean only 1 thing - Yahoo is dead, don't bother with it because you'll be disappointed.

Tracking events (outbound clicks)

Amazon shows daily reports (clicks and orders), but I'd like to track all outbound clicks and I'd like to be able to actually see from what page they came from. I'm using EasyAzon (shortcodes) and I have Yoast Analytics installed.

Problem is that Yoast only recognizes half of my outbound links. If I place link in a table, Yoast Analytics won't track outbound clicks on it. I have spent probably about 5 hours to make it work, but without success so far. If anyone has a solution for this, let me know please. It must be related to themes I'm using, because tracking outbound clicks works 100% on only 1 of my sites.

Conclusion

Otherwise, my plan is going like it should. I'll save 10k$ before I reach 3k$ per month and then I'll be able to launch a legit business and cash everything out. $2000 will go into a new computer and tablet made in China (I already have enough for that), $3000 will go to taxes and expenses for 6 months, $5000 will instantly go to investments. If I reach this goal before summer, I'm sure I'll start banking hard by the end of 2015 with other stuff - focusing on PPC is in my plan. Beauty of it is that I would just take $2000 per month max for myself. The rest of it will always go into investments until I reach the ultimate goal which is $1000 per day.

I started my IM journey with only 1 goal, which is money, but the journey itself is the ultimate reward and money is just a byproduct. I believe this is the only right mindset to be more productive and creative.

Update:

I just realized I'm screwed. Traffic on Site B dropped for 50%, I have checked out average monthly searches of that niche and I realized most sites with cheap products drop drastically after December (40% less in January and it will continue to fall for another 20% until the lowest point in June). "Luckily" it hasn't reached its potential so far because I haven't done enough of work on it and niche is pretty easy, so I'll just add more content on important pages, add couple more articles, links, and it should get back to the level it was in December in 2 months.

Fuck me, why haven't I checked this out before.

krneki.jpg

170 clicks on Amazon links yesterday, average in December was 220 (I only count Amazon.com here).

Suddenly my goal seems further away, but screw it, I'm gonna work like a dog to reach 100$/day before this summer. I thought I'm at 50%, but I'm more like at 30%. Currently I'm making $50 per day on average this month, thanks to Site A which ranks for most expensive products in its niche. I suspect this will drop to 40$ per day, but I'll just have to wait and see.

Although traffic dropped on site A as well, I'm ranking for more important KWs that bring a better targeted traffic, important clicks and conversions. (I get almost 30% more clicks from it compared to December). It shouldn't drop that much on long term.

More sites:

I finished 1 site this month and I'm developing 2nd one right now. This 2nd one will be a moneymaker, it's a known keyword and surprisingly it has the least monthly searches in December. In the next 6 months, I'll publish about 50 articles on it, probably even more. Goal right now is to finish 10 articles until the end of this weekend, and I'll launch 2 more sites every week in January from now on. So I should finish 8 more sites and then I'll put developing new ones on pause and I'll focus on the existing sites.

Overall I'm very pissed right now, I knew December is better than other months, but I didn't know it's THAT better. I'll use this situation for my motivation.

What to do:

I'm gonna change the theme on 1 site with highest priced products and I'll change its structure completely. It's one of the first sites I made when I got into Amazon stuff, and it has a poor structure. I will go through all 20 published articles, check for grammar mistakes, add 200 words of content on each, etc. Google won't like it on short term, but it should love it on long term.

Op,your journey looks brilliant. I just want to know how you locate the niche. Almost all the solid niches are dominated by authority sites. Possible to outrank them?

Do you follow any guidelines to write reviews? How long do you need to finish a single review?

Thanks for your time.

I agree that most niches are dominated by authority sites. But authority sites usually only take couple of most important keywords from each niche, they dont touch 60%+ of searches, so you should focus on them.

I dont follow guidelines for reviews, i just make a proper research and highlight most important features of products. It takes me anywhere from 20 minutes to 1 hour for a single review. 400 to 1000 words, depends on how hard the niche is.

From experience, these page updates work pretty good to climb a few spot in Google. Keep us updated.

Update:

As said, I have finished 1 site this month, it got first clicks these days from organic traffic. It should get a sale or two by the end of this month. I'm still getting about $50 per day this month ($75 yesterday) despite the small traffic drop and if I'm lucky, I'll reach $1500, but it's gonna be on the limit between 7% and 7.5% commission level again, so I need some luck here.

I'm currently making the 2nd new site this month and this one should be a real money maker and it has potential to make $3000 per month. I didn't just pull this number out of my ass, but it's really a similar site to my site A and if my site A makes $1000 per month, I'm sure this one can get $3000. Products cost about the same, but it's the level of competition and monthly searches that count here. While Site A has about 20 competitive niche sites promoting the same thing, this one only has 1 or maybe 2.

Main KW has 30k monthly searches, but it's covered by authority sites. Luckily there are many KWs with 2k+ monthly searches and they mostly have very poor competition. If I compare SEO of competitor's site that is dominating this niche to my Site A, all metrics are in favor of mine.

Because niche is so good in my opinion, I will really put my best effort into it to create the best affiliate site I've ever made. That means top quality content with perfect design and structure. I'll also focus on getting a long term audience. The only problem is that I'm not a native English speaker, but if I put my best effort into it, I can produce great content. But it takes time.

Step by step plan for this site:

1. I have blocked crawlers through robots.txt, I'll index this site once I publish about 15k words of HQ content on it, hopefully on Wednesday/Thursday (1000 words so far).

2. After that, I'll write more content and dripfeed it, so 2 articles will get published every week.

3. After a couple of weeks, I'll start making standard links - relevant blog comments, few directories, sponsored mentions on social networks, etc. Just to let Google know it should pay attention and that something is going on.

4. I won't buy PBN links for this one, at least I'm not planning to. Instead, I'll contact some "non-commercial" bloggers in similar niches and connect with them. This process takes too much time and it isn't appropriate for most micro niche sites, but I really believe I have found a moneymaker here, so I'll do everything the way it should be done.

Other stuff:

I have bought shitloads of plugins and themes these days. I am using a few nulled WP themes and I have decided to purchase original ones, just to thank developers. What goes around, comes around.

So, this should be done by Wednesday/Thursday, then I'll register 2 new domains and start creating content on them. They will be smaller sites, so I can finish it all before next Monday.

To be continued... :)

Thanks OP for your updates, that's motivation for quite a few people here.

To your success!
