Yell blocks very fast. 30 proxies will never be enough for 4500 yell urls. Maybe you should try to extract links with only 1 thread when extracting from yell.

Ok I'll turn down the settings to test.

Also, how do you add Google.co.uk as an engine to the custom harvester?

I tried copying the google.com credentials with the query string changed to .co.uk but when testing it said no urls were found.

Its not just the query string, you also need to modify the marker, like "Just before the url", "Right after the url" etc. When they dont match, the link cannot be extracted. This is unfortunately all a little tricky to do, you would need to read the page source to find the marker. I hope that we have time some day to create a visual editor for this.

The old scrapebox had google.co.uk as a default, any chance of extracting the old data and putting it in 2.0?
I managed to create it so that it extracts the links correctly when I "check the engine", but when actually scraping it just gets errors.

Can I use my scrapebox loaded on a usb on any computer or is the license tied to the first computer I installed scrapebox on?

Its tied to the physical computer. Also running it from a USB is not ideal, you want to run it from a folder on your desktop or a folder in your documents folder, as these 2 locations have ideal permissions. But either way the license is tied to the pc even if you do run it off the usb, it won't work on a different pc.

On version 1, does the link checker (addon upgrade) uses proxies?

No it does not. You can modify the ini file and force it too, but its probably easier to just use the 2.0 beta as it can use proxies simply by checking the use proxies box.

Just select Google in the harvester configuration, change google.com to google.co.uk in the query string, change the name to Google UK, then save as new engine. Do a test. if its successful, then close then do a test harvest, 20 results only, 1 keyword, no proxies. If it works, you can assume that your proxies are all bad, blocked by google already.

I harvester 2000 results for a test from google.co.uk and had no issue.

You said in a previous post that I couldn't do that!!

But yes it works perfectly well, thankyou.

Ok, I have just paid for the license, would this work on Windows Server 2012?

I have an assistant who would run this for me, how can I get him to liaise with support if there is any question?

Just an error report for ya with ver. 2.0.0.22 Fast Posters seems to get stuck on 1 active thread at the end of posting for me each time. It is blazing fast up until then tho great work!

Hi I am enjoying Scrapebox and wish to buy the RankTracker plugin. Please could somebody tell me how accurate that is?

Yes it works on 2012, no issue, everything from 2003 forward for server versions. I have it running on a few servers with 2012.

As for your assistant they can mail support with the contact form, thats no issue.

Hi I am enjoying Scrapebox and wish to buy the RankTracker plugin. Please could somebody tell me how accurate that is?

Its as accurate as "accurate" is when it comes to SERP rank checking. It just gets the results just like a browser and displays them and displays where your rank is and a graph and all the rest.

You should know that engines, especially google, serve up different result sets for different ips and different browsers. So you could literally take 3 of the right browsers on the same machine, search the same keyword and get 3 very different result sets. Also if you use proxies from a country other then the one you are trying to rank in or where your target market is etc... the results may show different then your browser because of the geo local of the proxies.

All of this is true for any rank tracker on the market, as rank tracking is a nice "estimation" of where you are and a good way to get an overall measurement of your success, but 50 different people who search google from 50 different places could see 50 different result sets, so "accurate" when it comes to rank tracking is somewhat relative, your looking for the overall picture when it comes to rank tracking.

So in short the rank tracker plugin is as accurate as it can be, just like a browser, but there are a lot of things that can affect what results you and the rank tracker actually get back from google and other engines.

Does the link extractor take more processing power to extract both internal/external as opposed to just one or the other?

I notice that if I put 200 threads and do internal/external, it will eventually get to the point that about 190 of the threads are parsing and 10 are reading, but if I do just external I will have about 80 threads reading at any given time, which is obviously way faster.

Also is there any way to force it to use more threads? It only uses about 30% of my CPU at the most. I can run 2 instances at 200 each but since the v2 link extractor can handle limitless lists I'd rather just have it all going in one.

Go to the add-ons, .ini settings however increased threads may decrease accuracy. 30% CPU yes but how is your network? Check your Network. Scrapebox.ini or any addon .ini can be edited in Notepad or any text editor to increase threads. Depends on the addon whether it is a good Idea to do or not. I run 2400-3000 threads to harvest.

Internal link parsing can take more time than external link parsing, because it has to resolve relative urls, following RFC 2396 and RFC 1808 specification.

I am using the Broken Links Checker 2.0.0.1 and I can't see how to increase the connections. It varies, but most of the times it is close to 1, how can we make it use 50 connections?

I already answered this, its very easy to do.

Scrapebox Support, who ever you may be, YOU ROCK!!!!! Had to say it!!

We are currently working on an update for Broken Link Checker, which will run faster.
