Has anyone used Ipage hosting?

Hello! I have searched a couple of threads on BHW and got interested in a ViralNova like website. I am planning to create something similar to it and found out about a very cheap host called Ipage; it also offers free facebook ad and google ad credits and it is very cheap so I'm tempted to buy it. I am very new to this with no knowledge in programming. Is Ipage any good? Can it handle that much traffic?

I have just graduated and i am recently unemployed so my budget on fb ads to reach out to my target market is very limited. I can alot 8-10 hours a day curating content but I am really worried that it wont get viral because I dont have enough money for facebook ads. Do i stand a chance on making money with this kind of website?

I've searched for free viralnova like script clones to minimize costs as much as possible.

iPage is decent for the price you pay, but it will never ever host a site like viral nova. A website like viral nova probably requires servers that cost hundreds/thousands of $ /month, so give up on the idea of a website like that.

Traffic in entertainment niche is not very profitable, you'll need to replace quality with quantity. iPage was the first hosting company I used, it held up to 1k visitors per day, but they weren't very happy about it. Load time is slow, servers are slow and entertainment websites full of images will make it even slower, so get ready for load times bigger than 4-5 seconds.

My honest advice, forget about this idea, find a niche where traffic is worth much and you don't have to really on huge quantities of traffic to make something decent.

Edit: Uptime is definetly not 99.99% as advertised, somewhere around 90-95, depending on the month.
Support is decent, I think they share support with Fat Cow (probably other companies as well). My english is not great, but theirs is worse than mine.

iPage sucks, been there. And ViralNova probably runs on a dedicated server, not on shared hosting.

A friend of mine was with iPage. He actually didn't have any complaints but he wasn't raving about them either. Seems to be mixed reviews about them.

Thanks for the advice. I really appreciate it. I was thinking of hosting via bluehost w VPS but I guess I should just focus on niche sites, given the limited budget, and grow from there.

They will provide exactly as advertised, no "Unlimited" bullshit.

IPage is terrible. If you plan on getting ANY traffic, you're probably going to experience a ton of downtime. I canceled with them after 3 days because my site would go down every hour, and I didn't even have a ton of traffic. They're for websites that dont expect any real action - Maybe a resume site or something.

I have seen a lot of terrible hosting companies, but iPage is very unique.

Due to overload they had to make a script which disabled comments on WP based websites. Unfortunately that didnt help much, they were still as slow as molasses in January.
