Exactly. That's why I always consider every possibility..
Just don't forget that knowledge is ultimately about the elimination of possibilities. And it's knowledge you want, not stories.

Exactly. That's why I always consider every possibility.. maybe humans were living on Mars 65 millions years ago and they wanted to come to Earth because it was a better planet for their future and Mars was dying because of nuclear wars and stuff like that. So they decide to wipe out the major living form on Earth at the time, the Dinosaurs, but something doesn't go like they had planet and they end up all dying on Mars except for some human-life seeds that they were able to send to a Dinosaurs-free Earth.
You might think this is science fiction, but really.. it could be real.
what a load of cr@p, people will believe anything nowadays.
It's indeed an awesome quote, but I like it from another perspective. The first sentence is trivial (no information), and the second one is deliciously sly (In a scale of 1 to 10, they could be equally terrifying with a grade of 1, but the "terrifying" word is what strikes out to the reader rather than the fact, bypassing his analytical process).
Mars could have had a core made out of ice cream and chocolate. The Martians liked chocolate more than ice cream and mined the chocolate.
Eventually the constituents of the core became unbalanced and it triggered a volcanic cataclysm.
Ice cream spewed from the volcanoes for thousands of years, causing temperatures to drop dramatically.
It got too cold for the Martians so they came to Earth.
Eventually, the ice cream on Mars melted and evaporated into space - which is why there is now no evidence of life on Mars.
You might think this is science fiction, but really.. it could be real.
You really got yourself thinking hard there didn't you.
Honestly? No.
It took all of 15 seconds to come up with that nonsense.
Nonsense it easy.
But there will still be plenty of evidence to be found.
There is a fossil record, a sedimentary record, an atmospheric record. There will be evidence of past life for billions of years.
Amino acids (the basic building blocks of life) have been detected in interstellar dust clouds tens of thousands of light years away. If scientists can detect something so small, so far away, do you really think they are incapable of finding evidence of life on the planet closest to us?
And if they found it, do you really think they will keep it a secret?
And if they found it, do you really think they will NOT keep it a secret?
Thats the question
What can be gained, by keeping information about life on mars secret if it did exist or existed?

I usually just dismiss these stories as complete BS, but somehow reading a renowned doctor talk about this with such certainty gives me the chills. Do you believe there was a nuclear war on Mars which ended life there?
I like how you think. If you put your theory togheter with my over-farting theory... it now becomes obvious there was beans and chilly into the chocolate, which might be unusual on Earth but not for Marians' taste. This is a unique interesting twist... I must go in my basement lab to study this further... see you later.
I think we're onto something. It makes perfect sense.
The excessive methane the Martians were putting into the atmosphere from farting would have definitely contributed to the melting of the ice-cream sheets.
All these 'Martian nuclear war' theorists are nutjobs - it was clearly ice-cream volcanoes and chilli-chocolate farts that wiped out the Martians.
The atmosphere was mainly polluted as a result of the confectionery revolution, where the martians built huge ice cream refineries ran by burning large quantities of bean rocks mined from the planets core.
