Hi guys,
I'm new to BHW.
I have been mostly reading here for the last couple of years.
I decided that I want to contribute back to the website, and that's why I'm starting this thread.
Before telling you my goals & tactics I will give a short review about my current internet-related experience.
I tell this because I want you to know my start point, it does matter what is your start point.
I'm a programmer, I have lots of experience in all the fields of programming.
I had about 40-50 websites in my hands (bought, sold, created, altered, etc) over the last ~7 years.
I'm 22 years old and living on my own at a rented apartment with some coworkers.
Last year I had a pinterest-based automation which made me $3500/mo (for the entire year..). It's dead now since my day job was really tough (15-18 hours/day) and I had no time to maintain it (I had to leave my apartment for long periods because of my jobs). Suddenly pinterest' blocking algorithm evolved and I found myself out with lots of blocked accounts.
Now I have a day job from 9am-9pm and the rest of the day is spent between university (trying to get a degree) and IM-ing.
I'm trying to oil my pinterest-machine and start earning again. This time I'm going BIG TIME.
During the last year, which I have been living at my own apartment, I have lots of thoughts and I have lots of conclusions and ideas about IM-ing and business at all, which I will implement in this journey.
This journey is mostly about trying my new ideas and thoughts and not focused on money (although that I do want to earn money).
The important things I learnt during this period:
a. if you want to have lots of money, the first thing you should do is to cut every-day spending! i'm renting a cheap room in a small roomates apartment (it's 7 square meters....).
b. I'm most effective when I sleep 5.5 hours/night and have a powernap at noon (making an espresso, taking a 20 minutes nap then alarm clock wakes me up). I'm living like this for 4 years now.
c. At past, I have been trying to minimise my money-investment in pinterest and that was one of my major weeknesses. If you want to make big money you should understand that you should invest! money doesn't grow on trees!
Investment can be done in 2 ways: time and money. Most people willing to invest time on something, because they don't feel it's a "loss" (because their bank account isn't getting smaller..). Most of the people are AFRAID to spend money!
I now understand that I was AFRAID TO INVEST MONEY! I was spending lots of time, but time wasn't something valuable enough for me back then... Now I understand that I'm going to put lots of money on it, and I'm okay with it.. It's part of making money!
d. Many people think that they should do their secret method alone: work alone, develop alone, earn 100% of the profit, do not tell your secret method to another one, etc
I used this think this way too. but no I understand that there are tons of "secret method"s. I understand that if I work alone everything will take more time, if I work alone there is only my 2 eyes on the work, only my own attitude (which is sometimes makes me going at the wrong direction).
It's true, if I will get somebody in I won't earn %100 of the profit, but I also won't do 100% of the work, I will also not risk spending 100% of the money & time, etc.
I prefer to earn 20% of the profit, and have 5 partners which will work on it as hard as I do. together we will make $20000 instead of $1000 alone.
After stating my agenda, lets tell you my current stats:
* 3 pinterest account, holding together 4200 followers
* 20 accounts under development (created, now bootstrapping)
* 2 shared hosting servers, one at USA and another at Netherlands
* 4 old pinterest-optimised websites on the shared hostings
* 5 private proxies
* my babe: a home-made VPS with custom pinterest automation
My plan is a 6 months one, so I will tell you the plan for the next month:
* have 20-25 working accounts
* a total of 20k real targeted followers at 2 niches
* every account will have at least 10 boards with 20 pins each
* everything is FULLY automated - nothing is done by hand
I have a lot of things to learn, but I'm going to make small baby steps towards the target.
My target is BIG MONEY and that's my thinking, I'm not afraid to spend money.
I have not explained everything, but I will do so in my comments and updates.
I would be happy to answer any related question as long as it won't hurt my niche.
Although that I have a small experience in this, I'm not an expert.
I believe that everything can be learnt, as long as one ears are opened for listening. And I do want to listen to your thoughts
I will highly appreciate your thoughts and suggestions.
I will try to maintain this thread and keep you posted.
Great week!
