Pinterest Journey to $5000/mo

Just another thing that i would like to write about...

I decided that my chair & keyboard aren't meeting my minimum requirements for a good chair & keyboard, I'm throwing them away and going to buy a nice second-hand chair and a new keyboard tomorrow :)
In my opinion a good screen/mouse/keyboard/chair/desk is a must for someone who use computers for his job.. investing money on these things is important as investing it on proxies/domains/etc!!

yes i have a hemmorroid to show of ym battle wounds form IM.

i currently use a sex chair (look it up) so there is no pressure on the ass ring while doing my work.

i like this thread it worth bookmarking i really want to see the end of this journey

* 22 new users were created, thanks to someone here at BHW :) cost me $15 (including PVA emails), now I'm going to see if bootstrapping is needed for them or not. I may consider to find a guy who can create accounts and bootstrap them, just to avoid paying $5 for each account bootstrapping at fiverr
* one user came back from fiverr's bootstrapping
* some stats: 3852 followers as of today, 3 total accounts
* some stats: 5 proxies, 2 aren't used
* some more stats: servers uptime: 11:04:16 uptime 10 days, 22:12:44 (it's been 10 days since UPS was added, i'm very much happy now :) )

Weekend plans:
* write unfollowing automation, to keep a good balance of following/followers at each account (especially new accounts)
* attach 1 account to a free proxy and start automating it

Next week plans:
* buy 5 more proxies, from another seller (divide them)
* find a 17-years-old python programmer who can work on the automation 24/7, pay him $10 until the job is done. I want him to work from my apartment so it may be hard to recruit such a guy. it's going to cost $500-1000 but I'm just fine with it
* find a pinterest-account-manager. his main job will be to get the accounts into community boards (and posting comments), from my experience followers aren't the big target audience, the big community boards are way better.
* add another fan to my home-made server, I'm afraid that once one of the current fans will stop running it may be overheating and I dont want that to happen

Some thoughts:
* I think I should change my pinterest-accounts-creator guy. I need a USA-based one. Because that changing IP from one country to another may raise a red flag at the bots-detection algorithm
* Sometimes my automation reaches the pinterest's CSRF error. I believe that this happens when proxy is too slow or local machine is under heavy CPU stuff.. I have no real solution for this right now, but if it won't stop I will have to deal with it. The main after-effect of this thing is that it makes my accounts noticed when compared to others.. and it may eventually lead to banning them

Happy weekend guys

I m using something similar strategy, but you are spending way too much. I send only for creating a good home server that was 2 years back and after that my only big spending is for private proxies. Anyways good luck.

Nice work boberbrian, subscribed.

Looking forward to see how much traffic your sites get when you start pinning.

So far all the money I put into it added up to $258 for the whole thing, including electricity costs :)
I don't see $258 as a BIG SPENDING. it is a week of work here (as a waitress..). this is NOT a big spending.

I also earn ~$50-100 / month so I'm now with a balance of $-112.

I wouldn't call it a big spending.. I would call it getting-serious-spending :)

About traffic, thats the stats for last week (I'm not pinning yet, it's all old pins from 2013):
avg. CTR: 8.5%, highest day is %13, lowest is %5
total page views: 609
total clicks: 49
ppc is about $0.25 so do your math about earnings..

(it's a bit less than $50-100 / month, and that's because I have some other websites which earns more)

The main thing here is the CTR, which is relatively high, and that's because of TARGETED audience, which is the most important thing here.

Two important notes:
a. I'm sorry for my English, I'm not a native speaker nor this is my mother tongue language
b. Prices here are in different currency, so usually I make an estimated conversion when posting money related information

Something else - yesterday we had a friends meeting. and I told everybody my plans. I did this to get some more eyes on my plan and find holes which I couldn't see on my own. I also keep doing my tuesday-business-lunch with a friend to keep a close eyes on the plan.
I think that it is important to tell everybody what you are doing, it has 2 main effects:
a. you are being "committed" to your plans, because someone else is "watching" you because you told him you gonna to X and if you didn't you don't feel good about it (psychological is important on business in my opinion..)
b. you have 2 more eyes checking your plans and find the bad things about them :)

Good luck guys, have a good saturday

* unfollowing automation is up and running waiting for 7pm (USA time) to see that it's working properly
* statistics module (how much followers, how much pins, how much comments, etc) was written from scratch to support smart following & unfollowing system which will eventually speed up account building process and also improve protection from pinterest's bot-detection
* almost found a 17-years-old programmer to update the automation, but he isn't man enough (should man up a little, not suited for this work yet). I will keep searching tomorrow.
* The new account wasn't recieved from fiverr, so it will have to wait some days

I'm really feeling good about all of this, the system is working good, I'm really happy with the statistics.
Just a little gesture for all of you: I'm saving statistics in CSV files (there is a pythonic module for that), and I'm using NirSoft CSV reader to watch them
It's fairly simple, and it's a freeware so you can download and run it freely. It supports big spreadsheets as well.
Really good tool.

I have two questions for you:
* right now I'm outsourcing work to people from India, we have a similar timezone, and it makes it good because I can get in touch with them at the same time. I would like to outsource some work to USA, and we are really opposite in hours, so do you have a good work methods to keep up with someone who is 12 hours difference than you?
* I'm thinking about getting an Indian python programmer to maintain the automation. Do you have a set of questions that you ask programmers to make sure they are good to go? I'm a programmer myself, but I cannot think of anything which will make me feel good about their code.. hiring is never simple I guess..

Good night!

* unfollowing automation is running smoothly!
* started seeking after a full-time worker to finish the automation, mainly looking at oDesk. I also posted a status on facebook, because I prefer a local guy.
* seeking after more proxies now. I see proxies ranging from $1-$3 per proxy and I cannot see the difference... Any recommendations would be appreciated!

I've only tried BuyProxies.org (EU proxies) i SSLPrivateProxy.com(US proxies). BuyProxies.org seems more stable, but it might be due to them being EU, and ping/latency issues with US proxies.

BTW, your unfollowing automation, does it unfollow everybody or just those that didn't follow back?

It's now dumb as fuck. I would like to see the effect of unfollowing someone who is following me (if he see a notification about if or similar) - if that matters, maybe I will follow guys who not follow me.

All the best Op in addition to make sure you remember precisely what everyone declares inside following will not give in, keep attempting even if you might crash decide precisely why an specific was unable along with help to produce adjustments for the procedure then once you begin to crank out funds degree this in excess.

Mine is also dumb. It's hard to make it efficient and only unfollow those that don't follow back. So I just unfollow everybody. I didn't notice significant downside, only a few hundred followers lost so far after unfollowing 300k+ profiles.

I haven't understood anything you wrote, can you rephrase it please?

Wish you the best for your journey !
I have question about the automation process, do you attack Pinterest from the web page or you use their API ?
Have you ever tried PhantomJS ?

API is like saying "I'm going to automate your website.. be aware of that"
Also the amount of users in this API is really low.. so you cannot blend in the crowd

I have not heard of phantomjs, I will look at it later, thank you :)

Op, how much views you are getting through these followers?
