I'm currently juggling my company/IM work, university and a relationship, and I'm very happy! She makes me smile the moment I see her which is good for staying in a good mood, and is always there to chat with if I feel like sticking my head up my own arse and jumping off the balcony for not getting anything done.
Naturally the opposite sex does require quite a lot of time, but in my opinion it's totally worth it.
100% sort your life out 1st. You'll never be in a happy relationship if you're not happy with how you're doing job/money wise first imo.
edit: saw your comment re 1 line answers so thought I'd expand lol. I was with a woman i loved to bits 2 years ago, didn't work because i didn't feel good enough for her. Started going to the gym and doing fairly well for myself money wise, still get the same as u sound fairly often but the more succesful i get the more confident i get. And I don't care what anyone says 99.9999% of women will go for someone whos confident. None will want to hear the whiny stuff in your post (not a criticism obviously fine posting it here)
Looks like you're doing ok for yourself with the amount of thanks you have though
To ask the question about balancing the two is to admit one's life is out of balance. Too many modern people live lives that are totally weighed towards making money to the exclusion of all else---physical fitness, spiritual time, family, etc. Really, how difficult is it to schedule dating time into one's life routine? Then once a special person is found, explain to them the career issue, and certain limitations on time and access they will have to endure for the time being.
Part of the problem is in also devaluing what we used to call courtship and marriage by calling it "a relationship," as if such a specific emotional bond should be titled with a catch-all term. The situation you have with your lawyer or doctor is a "relationship." Deepening the love bond with your projected life mate should be honored with a more specific term. Since we don't bother these days to do even that, no wonder we're having "balancing" problems?
Forget about career, you don't wanna work your ass off so one day when it comes to a promotion some kiss ass newbie takes your place. Build some stable and consistent income source for yourself. Once you're set financially it should be easy to dive into a relationship.
