Growing a Twitter Account

I have recently started growing a Twitter account and my target for the near future is 100k followers. I have done my research across several sources (including this site) and have made a 'plan'.
The first thing I did was email a few accounts with 1million + followers in the same niche as my account asking about promotion and if they sold retweets. I got two emails back, one saying $30 for 3 retweets and a shoutout and the other saying $40 for the same thing. This sounded like a good deal baring in mind the amount of followers they have. My first question is that how many followers am I likely to gain from one of these accounts? I only have 350 followers at the moment and understand this could put a lot of people off following me but I really don't want to buy fake followers.

So once I do buy 3 rt's and a shoutout from one of these accounts and discover how many followers I gain I will probably either be very happy or very sad. I thought to myself that if the rts went out at a peak time when the majority of their followers were active then hopefully I could get 5% of that amount to follow me. 5% doesn't sound like a lot but if 300,000 people see three of my tweets and 5% follow me, thats 15,000 followers!

I guess the point of this thread (my first thread for that matter) is to get other peoples opinions about my plan and maybe any previous experiences they've had with growing a Twitter account. I don't need people to tell me how hard it is and that a lot of effort/investment needs to be made because I have read this everywhere I go but all feedback is very welcome.

I have had mentions and retweets from some household name brands and have never gained many followers from the exposure.

My advice for growing follower accounts is to buy Twidium Inviter, buy some private proxies and be patient.

It depends on the accounts...but you should gain about 1%-2% of a persons followers if your tweets are hight quality. (use catchy pictures and phrases)

Do you have the cash to keep buying RTs? It's going to add up quick. And have you figured out a monetization plan after you hit your 100k mark?

That's how I started growing my first account and I'm up to 1 million plus total followers across 3 accounts now. Except I bought fake followers at first (do it; it's worth it). Took about 4 month of this until I could monetize. Just stick with it. You'll get there.

Well it depends how much I have to spend. I do have an amount that I'm willing to go up to but not over. I'm hoping that I can reach a point before I reach my target where promoting the account will come solely from RT's I get from followers.

I was buying before on Fiverr, they are dropping very fast. Now I am experimenting with SEOclerks. So far looks much better. Trying different providers. Many of them are promising permanent followers. So you can try 1k followers and check the quality. But TwitterAudit will show fake.

One of providers on BHW claims to sell real followers. I've checked, they don't show like fake but dropping very fast. If they are real (may be something like "instant followers") you should follow them back. But how you can follow back 13k in a short time?

So all this checking is a time consuming process. But still should be faster then normal way.

I think RTs from big accounts is kind of risky. The best way to go is "Goals" - retweeting until certain amount is reached. I've seen prices like $25-30 per 1k. So it'll be the most expensive but guaranteed.

I think thats very expensive for 1k followers. An account with 1million + followers is charging that same amount for three retweets and im pretty sure Id be getting more than 1k followers. Of course as you said this is risky but Id rather take the risk.

30k should be plenty. Even if they drop eventually, the followers you gain from buying promotions will substitute for the fake ones your lose.

The snowball effect is very real on Twitter. If you look closely, all the comedy/quote accounts are pretty much Tweeting the same Tweets, and none of them are all that clever. If you have real followers, you'll have Retweets.

When I started Twitter there was no threat of getting banned for buying fakes. Obviously that has changed over the years. I couldn't tell you the chances of getting banned for buying ~15-30k fakes, but there is a chance. That's why you should buy them before you put any significant investment into your account.

It may be expensive for some accounts, but just because two accounts have the same amount of followers does not mean that their promos are equally valuable. I have a 450k account that probably charges more than a lot of 1mil+. That's because this account averages 700+ RTs on everything, whereas you see 1mil+ accounts averaging 300 RTs. People who run the accounts know how valuable their promos are.

He sells fake RTs though. He claims they're real, but all you have to do is scroll through his rts to see that they're fake accounts.

Depends on the 1 million account you're buying retweets from. I've seen a lot of million follower pages on twitter and most of them are dead. I would suggest you watch the page you plan on buy retweets from and see how organic it is with its retweets and favorites in first hour or so.
