Hello everyone, I am fairly new to BHW but I did read a few articles on PBN's and have a few of them setup generating about $300/month, so I wanted to expand and try my luck at Amazon Affiliate websites. I am basing my journey off of this awesome article from BHW titled "Ultimate guide to building Amazon Affiliate Niche Sites that are Insanely Profitable" by Nick Flame. If I had the ability I would link to it because it has a ton of great info, but it shouldn't take you too long to find it.

1: What I did to start -
  • Looked around for a small, very specific niche with products in the $100+ category that targeted a small, specific audience
  • Did my SEO research using kwfinder
  • Purchased a domain name with my niche in the name from GoDaddy using a coupon code to only charge $4.99 total.
  • Purchased a cheap, $37 review theme
  • Signed up for Amazon Affiliate (duh!)

On my Wordpress website, I installed the following plugins (no particular order):

  • All in one Favicon by Arne Franken
  • All in one SEO Pack by Michael Torbert
  • Contact Form 7
  • Google Analytics by Yoast
  • Google XML Sitemaps
  • Login Lockdown (a lot of people have mixed feelings on this one but I love it)
  • UpdraftPlus - Backup/Restore

I'll be updating this every few days to give an update on what I'm up to and how much money I've made. If you have any questions you can feel free to ask, I'll be in and out.

Total Spent: $42~

Mods if there is an issue with this post or if I need to change anything please let me know! Thanks!

What is the search volume of the niche you've chosen?

Good luck with the journey!

What is the search volume of the niche you've chosen?

Good luck with the journey!

The search volume is roughly 6,500 searches month for the main keyword and anywhere from 300-500 searches month for the longer tail keywords I will also be targeting.

-- Update #1 --

Oct 3, 2014

  • Linked my Google Analytics account with the website
  • Linked Google Webmaster Tools with the website, set location preference to USA (Because my Amazon affiliate links will be USA-Based)
  • Installed purchased theme on Wordpress
  • Began working on my first filler article (>1000 words) to put on the site. Targeted my main keywords but none of the small niche kw's yet.
  • Made Contact Us / About Us / and Privacy Policy Page
  • Setup email account on the hosting provider that forwards to my main email and linked it to the contact form

more updates to come

How do you plan on showing these products on your site? a table?

Also will you be doing product reviews on your site?

How do you plan on showing these products on your site? a table?

Also will you be doing product reviews on your site?

Both.
I plan on breaking down the tables based on sections and categories, for example:

"Best cats of 2014"
"Best underwater cats of 2014"
"Best furry cats of 2014"

and then do individual reviews without tables, such as:

"Furry Cat 100 Review"
"Furry Cat 200 Review"

for each of these reviews I plan to use the image directly from amazon and then talk about the review based on the reviews from amazon, so I don't need the physical product I am targeting. Hopefully that makes sense.
