Got one question: for example the starter package offers 40+ links per month. Let's just say after 10 months I would have received 400 links. Will these be from 400 unique domains? Or is there overlap (i.e. 400 links from only 50-100 domains) - if yes, what's the number, approximately? Guess I'm asking how many different domains are in the network in total, haha. Thanks.

With Starter package you would get 40 links (with some extras) that would be active as long as you are subscribed. This is high PR links service and this is usual way how things work - on link rental principle. All links are built in first month and after link juice gets to your site, your rankings increase. No need for new links each month, since initial set of links brings loads of link juice if package is chosen according to your niche competition. And yes, all links are from unique domains.

Penguin 3.0 Release Info

As many of you probably already noticed the buzz, new major Google update Penguin 3.0 has been released last night. With decision to use Google search engine as marketing platform, we are all exposed to updates, sometimes no matter of linkbuilding techniques we use.

I would like to point few important things related to recent update to our current and future clients:

First of all, majority of sites we promote didn't get a hit.

After full check, around 10-15% of sites we work on dropped today. We still don't have clear image what were Penguin 3.0 criteria for hitting sites, but after hours of analysis here are first findings we have:

• almost all sites that used our service exclusively and got only our links, didn't get a hit, in fact, some of them jumped from few spots to few pages
• most sites that got a hit had one of the following pattern:
  • they used PBN type of links with known PBN layout parallel with our links (blog type page, 10 or more unrelated posts on home page, all posts with links, aged/expired domain with high PR, but changed content/layout/whois/hosting provider/IP/CMS/page structure)
  • they had visibly unnatural link submission peaks visible on link analysis services like majesticseo.com or ahrefs.com (hundreds or thousands backlinks in one day, and no or few backlinks before and after)
  • they had other spammy types of links like blasts of forum profile links
  • they had unnatural interlinking structure between sites on same hosting/IP or with same whois

Although these patterns are identified as possible Penguin 3.0 triggers, nothing is yet confirmed and at the moment we are still working on research and analysis of other possible patterns that could be identified as potentially risky. For now it is visible many types of links were affected, and more info on this update will be known in next few hours/days when we will be able to compare our findings with those that other SEOers got.

If your site got a hit, what can you do?
At the moment we recommend waiting for some time (up to few days) for more information. In last few hours, some of the sites that looked like they got a hit started recovering their positions or jumping even higher than they were yesterday. After few days, when it will be more clear if some site got a hit or it was just a temporary fluctuation, there are few options for recovery we will describe here in more details soon.

I just want to emphasize that our links are most likely not triggering penalty since 85-90% of sites kept or increased their rankings, so there shouldn't be any harm done to your site if you wait for next few days for more info. At the moment our whole team is working on analysis of patterns in order to get deeper insight in Penguin 3.0 and as soon as we will have more detailed info, I will post it here.

No one likes updates, but unfortunately sometimes they affect even 100% white hat sites and the only option we have is to get the better understanding on how some update worked and to adopt to new rules, which is exactly we are doing at the moment.
