Hey guys just wondered if anyone knows what to do, I shut down my laptop normally and when I went to turn it back on the power led is on for 2 secs then nothing happens it doesnt even start the fan or anything :(

Does anyone have any ideas what I can do all my files are on there, although there are some on my cloud.

Thanks in advance

Remove the battery and plug it in direct.
If it still doesn't work then try a new adapter.
Worst case scenario, you can just remove the hard drive then get a USB caddy and transfer all your files off it.

None of the above worked guys but thanks anyway everyone for your help. Gonna take it to get looked at tomorrow :D hopefully will get sorted but could do without the extra expense.

seems like dead motherboard. Which model was it?

This happened to me before and it was the graphics card that went.

If you know how to re-flow a graphics card, take it out of your laptop, re-flow it and put it back in and hopefully it will work.

Mickys tip of the month, get a new laptop.

Cheers Micky :P its a toshiba satelite fyi not that its looking good from where im standing :)

I had a similar problem, paid to get it fixed, then it messed up again and ended up buying a new one.

I have a Toshiba satellite that did the same thing. It is now in a closet.

Check for any blown, burst or leaking capacitors on the motherboard or graphic card. This could be the cause of a boot problem.

Mostly motherboard burst some IC's :)

Came across such situation once

If your laptop is already old, you should consider replacing it.
Sometimes the cost of repairing a laptop could better be put into buying a new one.

open your laptop and save the data on your hardisk using usb converter from data
