my site was going well until last month, the traffic drops in 2 days and remain the same. my site is about 1 years old coupon site. it used to have 500 visits a day, now it has 50. the traffic is not come back. I haven't do any backlink or seo work.

can any one help to get traffic back and increase it.

You need to do a bit of analytic work around your site - track the source of your traffic, track KWs that bring the most traffic, track their positions etc.

My advice would be to look for the KWs that brough the major traffic and then look for them in the SERPs and try figuring out what happened.

My One Plus for Same Suggestion. Also Do check when was Last Update you done on your site and was your site any Season Base site? Like Summer time It was Getting 500 and In Winter It dropped?

Was your website penalised? Did you change something in your website? We need more information to help you diagnose the issue.

Also, Safex's suggestion about your website being seasonal may be correct, also. Since the website is only a year old, this would have been the first time you would have experienced a drop in traffic due to the season.

That's a huge drop in traffic. My bets are going to his website being penalised. If it were the competition, he would have seen more of a gradual change than a huge drop in traffic like that unless one of his competitors completely dominated him in the SERPs, but even then I don't think it would have dropped that much over the course of a few days.

I have heard of people ranking with little or no backlinks by just having tons of quality content. It can be done.

I actually had the opposite happen to me a few weeks ago. I had a huge spike in traffic from search engines, but it only lasted 1 day before my traffic went back to normal.

But do you think a solitary competitor could have caused him to lose that much traffic? I could understand it if he had five competitors who outranked his website and pushed him to the second page of the SERPs, but only one? Considering his average position is 10 or less, I still don't think this is the problem.

Okay, so we can rule out any manual penalties to your website, but what about algorithmic penalties? Have any of your pages been deindexed recently leaving only a few of them indexed?
