I was able to get the trial to update and run on another machine. And yes, my local machine had Pinbot installed (trial and full version) before I moved it over to the VPS. I moved it to the VPS about 2 weeks ago and it worked fine until Saturday. What does the fact that the trial runs on another machine (that has never had PB installed) tell you?
that you have to clear all footprints of the program from the machine where it doesn't work anymore. is it present in the add/remove programs? if yes and you uninstalled it from there and then a newly downloaded one works, then you are lucky. if not present there, then you have to remove all app related entries from your registry, in the run box in your start menu type "regedit.exe" go to search in the top menu, type in the name of the app, enter, delete what you find, then keep pressing F3 and delete everything.
If you are lucky this can solve problems like this 90% of the time.
Caveats:
If you delete something else, you can fck up your installation of windows, small chance, but still tread with care...
It will not solve it, if the problem registry entry had some other name than the app name.
Or if the problem is in some other deep registry entry.
Also this could be against the TOS of the app.
But before doing anything else, you could try ccleaner, to clean your registry.
I never used VPS, but in VM-s the best practice is to normally create a GOLD version, ie a virtual machine that has the basics installed on it and works for sure. Then you always clone this one when there is a problem.
Is it not feasible to reinstall your VPS windows?
