Google "waiting period" after May 14 payday update?

For people who think churn and burns are dead, and cannot be done due to the mysterious fictional 30 day hold, there is a fine example of a churn and burn for a popular weight loss supplement.

I have 2 sites with 2 months, they have about 400-600 backlinks with good diversety and they aren't ranked in any keyword... The sites doesn't have any penaltys...

My site is not even in the top 800 even after building web 2.0s for tier 1 and high quality GSA links for tier 2. It's almost 40 days old

How has the social signals been? Has this contributed by actively utilizing FB, Tw, G+, or not?

I build my silo's now per city on a subdomain, as i see that i have much better rankings and i use the same plugin but only go 2 levels deep.

The site in this sample however is targeted at a major city (Los Angeles) and every suburb town and village is a silo, this site is still going strong although i see some real jumping in some of the bigger keywords.

Do you make your silos for multiple cities and keep them with only 3 levels? Or do you create 1 website per city or possibly have 4 level Silos with multiple cities?

I bought the first plugin from Webdev but it only supports 3 levels.

Any guidance on this would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Here's a question: Anyone here have actual first hand experience with this "30 day delay" we are talking about? I have done some pretty powerful link building - way beyond of what it would normally take for me to dominate keywords of this caliber - but I am starting to get very discouraged. My sites have not budged!

So - I guess what I am looking for: How long were your sites stuck? I am sitting at over 30 days and nothing is moving (up or down). For the record - my sites were aged and established already. The only thing new to them are the juicy high PR backlinks!

In summary: Do you know for a fact there is a waiting period? If so, exactly how long is it?

i'm seeing the same thing. i decided not to use 301s and just pointed some sape with exact anchors straight to money site. it's been a month since first indexing. i'm renewing for 2 more months just to see how it goes.

i saw a few people get results with 301s. should i do a 301 instead? i thought 301s don't pass as much link juice as straight to money site links?

A little update...I submitted a site on 7/3 and it popped onto page 2. I blasted it with some good links and dropped to page 5. I destroyed it with social signals from fiverr and then fell to like page 10-12. Then it basically disappeared from G. Then my second round of links it hit (variety plus PBN) and it had been sitting at page (2) for all keywords. 20-16-12 to be exact.

This is a wordpress woo commerce site with 3500 searches. I know there was some comments about it not affecting search volume but all information helps. Now on page two, third round of link blasting/PBN is gonna hit in two weeks.

I know it is not enough to draw conclusions from but FYI, cause it is all about hitting page one. One more note that I would like to add to discussion. I wish I would have taken a screen shot of this but when I was searching for my keywords, I had a pop up from G stating something to the effect of "are these search results helpful" rate on a scale of 5 from "not at all" to "very helpful"...I've never seen anything like this on a G search. Anyone else ever come across this?

I obviously said they were not at all helpful cause my site wasn't ranked :-) Sorry, I added a lot of info on this post but I think we need to stick to the facts because everything else is like the extra word problem bullshit that they used to give you in school...will report back in two weeks...

oh man. This thread reached 11 total pages. Just keep calm and continue link building. Works for me

Thanks for that great piece of advice, thank you so much, i am saved now 0_o

lol. Thanks for the sarcasm. But really, most of the people who are trying to make up this "waiting period" story have never ranked a site in their life. For me, there is no such thing as waiting period except just it takes few more days now.

Thanks so much this is very generous of you to share this information. I was scratching my head and going back and forth on how to handle multiple cities for a niche. And adding suburbs and villages I didn't seriously consider when WebDev mentioned it, but I can see how they could really help for larger cities.

Thanks again!

Hey guys, just made a test on one of my older mns crappy sites its emd PR 1, KW has 1900 MS low competition. Made a small 3 tiered contextual link pyramid with a boost of secondary links to moneysite and all tiers. I started building them on 20th july finished on 21st with GSA using WAC autospin shitty content, indexed everything with lindexed. The results went up alot today which shocked me. I will leave it as it is for a week and see if it moves higher. If it doesn't move I will double the contextuals to get this bitch on top.

One of my competitors changed their domain, and did a 301 redirect. And the domain went straight to the first page. So is 301 redirects excluded from this?

Hey so its been almost several days past a months time since this thread opened, anyone care to share if there rankings boosted up this week or is it going to be something else now?

Just create a link wheel of web2.0 sites and Do The bookmarking of linkwheel .. your website will get on first page google

I was about to ask the same question.

No doubt here that this is happening. I've been hearing your same concern everywhere lately, not just on BlackHatWorld.

One of my most recent sites is currently jumping from page 7 to page 9 and back to page 7. It was created early last month and I've since bought a few backlinks to propel it to the top.

This so called waiting period to me is just a delay that prevents the flow of link juice to a site from it's backlinks until after a certain amount of time has elapsed like I explained in my thread here

Let me do an update. I have 10 projects I've been working on lately and the only thing I can say for a fact is SEO has changed DRAMATICALLY these past few months.

So much so, I think it's time to change it's name from "SEO" to "SEOWTF".

Because I've been reading forums like crazy, been doing my own testing, and forgive me for saying, but my findings show that Google has successfully "broken" SEO. There is a new and obvious degree of randomness that I simply can't account for no matter what I read or do.

PBN links that use to rank my sites #1 in less than 6 weeks, now it's taking months and it's like sites reach a certain point, than some random ass shit happens and everything just goes apeshit. Some sites move to page 1 for a few weeks then back down to page 3 and stay there for a month no matter how many links I build or how perfectly I do everything. I've tried mixing in socials, diversifying links with GSA, and I'm getting very very close to saying something I thought I'd never say.... which is "SEO is broken". Not "dead", but "broken".

I'm curious if there are ANY people on this forum in moderate to competitive niches who have managed to rank a site #1 since mid may?

I have 1 competitor in 1 niche, the guy hasn't built a backlink in over 6 months and is ranking strong #1 on Google for more than 50 keywords. Meanwhile I'm building more and better links, completely relevant to my niche, and I can't outrank this mfkr no matter what I do. The ONLY thing that guy has that I don't is an older domain. But he has literally NO socials and NO recent backlinks OR content at all.

I know there are people who are gonna read this and be like "wtf dude, it's not SEO that's broke it's YOU", but I just want to hear from **1** person who's been trying to rank new sites since the update and has managed to grab a #1 spot. For a moderate to competitive keyword. Because I haven't seen anyone post any shots of #1 rankings. It also seems like there is a huge fog over SEO forums lately. Like there are certain people denying everything and have said, "as long as Google exists, so will SEO". But I'm starting to think that less than .00001% of marketers have any clue wtf is going on.

My case studies won't be finished for another month. And eventually I'll get some screenshots up. I actually planned on posting screenshots last week but NOTHING significant is happening. SEO was NEVER perfect but it DID have a certain degree of consistency and predictability. Something I'm just not seeing as of late.

I'd really love to see some more people chime in and update because SEO seems to have turned into russian roulette these past few months.... and I wanna know wtf is going on.

I can understand what you are saying BB. Well this randomness is now inside the algo and you can't do anything. What I see is sites that don't respond for 1 complete month suddenly appear on page 1. Then I see sites that are progressing nicely and suddenly some shit happens and they are nowhere to be seen. The only way out of this randomness is to create more sites, so at the end of day you will have some sites ranked. Creating 1 site in 1 niche is not the way to go. Create 10 sites on same niche and see how they respond. 301 the not-so-well performing sites to the highest performing site. That's what I am doing these days.

Another thing. There was a guy who created "how this site is ranking type thread". That site was also following the same method. They created 5-6 sites and build links on them. Then they redirected all the sites to 1 single site that was performing best among them.
