Day 4

Didn't have much time to work on my site today as other things kept me busy. Managed to finish editing my entire site though so they should start appearing in the SERP's soon. No other changes in my rankings unfortunately.

I was doing keyword research for a while and found some promising niches but amazon ranked #1 in most of them and I'm not sure if I can outrank that. Also a lot of old sites and several sites obviously targeting the same keyword. I'd post a picture of the competition from longtail pro if I could but still not enough posts for links.

I'm not sure how to judge competition properly and was mainly going off of longtail pro's KC. I'm not sure how accurate that is so I will have to do some research tomorrow. Any tips would be appreciated as I feel like most keywords I have found are saturated with competition.
Tomorrow it looks like I'll be doing keyword research for my new site. I'll also add another article to my main site and see if I can edit it a bit more.

Day 5

Very quick update today as I have been sick/lazy. I found my new niche but it will be a long term site that will take a while to rank. The main keyword gets 10k searches a month and a 35 KC on longtail pro. I am worried about the competition as amazon and some other authority sites are top 5 but I'm going to go for it anyway and hopefully pick up some longtail traffic while doing so.

Starting to get annoyed at the lack of movement after purchasing the seo package. Going to wait 48 more hours before I say something.

Day 7

My first week is finished and overall it wasn't that impressive. I have to 'up' my workload and start working on other methods as just waiting around for my site to rank is getting me nowhere. Development of my new site is underway. I have a lot of keywords I will be targeting and am starting the article writing process which should take up a lot of next week. As my efforts to rank in Google are going unrewarded I'm going to start looking at alternate forms of traffic. I have been reading a lot about pinterest and I think next week I will start a new site that targets the sh!t that women love and try to get some traffic that way. I have also been reading about media buying and although I do not have a lot of capital, I feel like a have enough to do a couple of campaigns and see how it goes.

Next week:

• Wait to see if Site #1 is going to move or not.
• Finish 10 articles for my new site and start optimising it.
• Start third site and try to drive pinterest traffic to it.
• Potentially start a fourth site around a clickbank product and try my luck at some media buying.

I'm not sure if I am going to be taking too much up but after starting this journey i've realised how much time I waste so I should have enough to get this done.

Thanks for that, good to know someone is enjoying it . Funnily enough I only started tracking it today, I installed a plugin called WP slimstat and no visits so far. No idea how reliable it is yet, I was going to use analytics but I decided to stay away from anything Google owned.

My experience with WP slimstat has been a little choppy. You can also try using statcounter. The only difference is that you will have to see your stats from the statcounter website and not in a plugin like WP slimstat.

Day 8

I am slowly overcoming my laziness and doing more everyday. Wrote a new article for my site #1, planned out my new site and started content creation and have started a little experiment with paid traffic to try and get conversions on a squeeze page. As I have started doing more things I've decided to label the sites to make it easier to write about and hopefully easier to follow. I'll refer to my original site as the Alpha and my new one as Beta.

Alpha Site:
As I said above I added a new article, I also re edited my pages for the 10th time to try and get some rankings by lowering keyword density and adding more LSI keywords. I have also decided to accept the fact that the main keyword is being a dick and I am going to start trying to rank my longtails which appear in the SERPs already. This means I won't use the ranking update anymore as it is a bit redundant.

I have no visitors yet according the SlimStat.

Beta Site:
Haven't bought the domain yet as I am trying to think of a brandable name that isn't taken. Started content creation and have a good idea of how I am going to develop the site.

Side experiment:
I have started a small landing page and have bought some traffic to send to it, I don't expect much but I am hoping for at least one sale to recoup my losses. It will be a couple of days before my site is verified so no traffic can be sent yet. I'll update once it begins.

Other than that I have decided to plan my days better to avoid randomly browsing the internet and procrastinating as I seem to be more productive when I do, who would have thought. That is about all for today, Thanks for reading.

Day 9

Today has been busy and I have a lot to update. I now have a new site that a friend didn't want and so I got it for free. It is a site promoting a clickbank product. Overall it is a pretty crappy site and may be a waste of time trying to rank as I havent fully researched the keywords they were targeting but I thought I may as well give it a try. So that brings my total sites now to 3. My media buying experiment delivered and it was a huge failure but I only spent 10 bucks and a few hours work on it so not a total loss and I learned a lot.

Alpha
I was getting annoyed at its lack of ranking when I asked in a thread to see if someone could help me out. I got a lot of good advice and changed a lot of things but it will be a few days/weeks before google notices these changes so I am not expecting much yet.

Beta
I still have the plan and haven't really moved forward as I spent most of today editing Alpha. I also got a lot of tips from the person who looked over my first site so I have to adjust my plan a lot.

Clickbank site
This won't really be a main focus of mine as I'm not sure of the potential but I will be adding a lot of content later once my other sites are more stable.


Overall it was a good day, I learned a lot and I have a clearer idea of what I'm doing. This should mean results will be in the near future. Thanks for reading

Day 10

Today is drawing to an end and while I got a decent amount done, I'm still not getting as much done as I should be. I finally bought a domain for my Beta site and started messing around on wordpress to make it look nice. Wrote an article for it, did a lot of keyword research which looked very promising and has giving me high hopes for this site. Other than that I had some good improvements in the SERP's on some of my longtails although my highest ranked one disappeared as soon as I added some backlinks to it but im hoping that is just the google dance and it will bounce back higher than ever. And as you can see I got bored and decided to make my update more colourful.

Alpha
Today:

• Didn't add an article to it like I planned but I am running out of longtails to target.
• I got 2 visits off a very obscure longtail which also happens to be my first traffic to the site since inception.
• Added 5 handmade backlinks

Tomorrow:

• I am going to add that article tomorrow
• I think I will leave this site for a week and focus on launching beta

• Finally have a domain
• Have one article on the site
• Completed keyword research

Tomorrow:

• Write 2 more articles
• Make my wordpress more aesthetic

This was my biggest surprise as once I added it to serpbook with a few longtails it was actually ranking for them

My updates are taking up half a page so I'm going to have to think of a better way of doing this lol.

Basically I'm just focusing on Beta for a while as I realised how much content I am going to have to produce. Ranking it is going to be a long process and I'm finally starting to realise that this journey is going to go for a long time before I reach my goal. As long as I make steady progress everyday though I will see results.
