Journey Time | $100/day

Hello BHW,

I've decided to make a journey as I think it is the best way to keep track of progress. It also looks like most journey threads that make it past a couple of pages start earning good money and achieve their goals. I am a new member of the site but I have lurked for a while so I have basic knowledge and I started my first site a couple of weeks ago.
This is my first proper attempt at IM so it will probably take awhile to see some progress but I hope to be reaching my goal of $100/day before the end of the year.

What I have done so far:
- I am currently trying to rank a amazon affiliate site for a keyword with about 4000 searches and month and a handful of longtails.
- I used longtail pro to find all these keywords and the KC is mid to low 20's for all the keywords so hopefully they are not too hard to rank.
- The website is made and I have 10 pages of content all optimised with Wordpress SEO by yoast.
- I have bought an SEO service from BHW and I should be getting the report any day now. I can already see the backlinks coming in on AHREFS but there is no movement in the SERP's so far, so I'll have to wait and see what happens.

I am not going to put all my eggs in one basket and will be trying numerous different strategies and methods to make money but at the moment I'm focusing on my affiliate site. Even though I started weeks ago I haven't been too committed so we will call this DAY 1 of my journey.

DAY 1

- Today I'm going to write another article for my site and target another longtail.
- I also read a thread on BHW by phpbuilt which i can't link because I am new but I think this might have something to do with why my site is showing no progress in the SERP's, so I will go through and edit all my articles until they meet those guidelines.

My rank for my main two keywords as I can't post images yet:

Thanks for reading, that was a lot longer than I planned it to be so hopefully someone made it to the end and still is interested. I'll try to update daily with progress whether or not there is any.

Good luck to you too, I write all my own content to cut costs but its a pain, what kind of rate do you pay for a freelancer? and what's the quality like?

Day 2

What Ive Done Today:

I followed the guide from PHPbuilt to optimise my site so hopefully ill see some results soon. I also added another article to my site making 11 posts. My SEO package delivered today, I haven't had a chance to look at the report but everything looks in order. I still cant post pictures of my serpbook rankings so i'll just type them out.

Other than that not much to update. Tomorrow I plan to add another article, finish interlinking the site, and edit the rest of my articles according to phpbuilts thread to see if they start ranking. I've also decided to add how much I've spent/earned.

Earned: $0

$2 per 500 word article. It's awesome quality since its native English speakers that are looking for reputation. So they are going to over-perform.

Also, I am noticing you are spending way too much money. You could get a domain for 99c, free hosting with Google (I got $500 credit for free). I am going to get GSA SER trial and try to rank with with some link building. Also, I used that free SEO summer promo in the forums around here.

Are the 99c domains TLD and where do you get these from? I'm not too bothered about the hosting as I use it for other stuff and building my own backlinks would be too tedious so I don't mind paying to automate the process. My only problem is it has been two weeks since I ordered and about a 1 week since I saw the links start to appear in AHREFs and I still haven't had any movement. Maybe I am just being impatient.

Day 3

Today has been a good day, after optimising my site according to phpbuilts specifications an article targetting a longtail that has been indexed for weeks finally appeared on Serpbook. It's 213 at the moment, I'm just really happy that one of my articles has finally appeared on Google. Now hopefully my main page with all the backlinks will start ranking.

Other than that it was an uneventful day, I have almost finished editing my entire site to the previously mentioned specifications. Now that I know it works I'm more eager to do it. I have also begun researching keywords for my second site. The current one is going to be more adsense than amazon as I didn't plan it very well but this one will be solely amazon.

I think this revelation will allow the journey to pick up some pace as currently it is a bit uneventful. Anyway tomorrow I will add another article, finish editing all my current articles and find a keyword to base my new site around.
