Google "waiting period" after May 14 payday update?

An update on this post. After 24hrs, it jumped from #22 to #4, and is ranking for some other variations in the top 3.

Have you found the sandbox and/or ranking issues for aged domain with high search volume?

I have a powerful aged domain for a medical term, it would be perfect to rank for a highly competitive medical query and then push a clickbank solution on.

Search volume is 80k

Is this the same domain NameCheap took away from you? :p

I honestly don't have a view yet on this sandbox 2.0 issue. I can't say definitively one way or the other... but we do have quite some degree of testing under way.

So tony_d, according to your experience, terms with less then 1k search volume are still ranking fine.??

According to that one example, yes. But there are so many variables that I couldn't state that categorically yet.

I targeted two product +review terms one 600 MS other 900 MS. I made 1 website for both those keys, plus 1 web2.0 for each key . (each 10k words translated content plus LP) the web 2.0's are 200+ for 3 weeks while website dances 50-150.

Yea, this is what made me check.

Guess im shit out of luck now

Well from what tony says and from what Ive seen of top tens of the affiliate sites that do rank, what i think is most logical is that its simply a devaluing of junk links to the point that they will never get past a certain point alone.

So in that sense it would be an automatic and permanent waiting period unless you got more quality links.

The question of link quality is nothing new, but I think that what may have changed is that whereas before you could perhaps overcome this with ENOUGH junk links to push you over, now it seems there is a stopping point where the junk cease any kind of value.

DAMN, You outed it to Everyone :D. I can confirm this really works, but it's not easy as fc-dh is trying to make it

Uuuhmmm yeah it kinda is lol

Don't worry it involves a lot of work and investments to set it up properly, so not a lot of people are going to follow my (your?) footsteps ;)

Make sense, but that means high quality tiered linkbuilding will even become more important, you will need to construct even better tier 2 and and maybe even tier 3 links, i already do that even tier 2 and 3 are of good quality of my link building schemes are of a quality that a view months back it would have passed as tier one lol

For now my strageties are building big sites in a silo structure with frequent updates (pun content though, google still can't read :))

Build a high quality 3 tier link scheme.

Add links from PBN

Add social sign, although i still don't belief in them as a ranking power at all, you always get some extra traffic from social sites like twitter and facebook, and traffic = traffic

Wait out the delay.

I realized i can rank languages other than english in 1-2 weeks.I tested this on 4 diff. languages and they rank like it used to be. Does anybody have similar experience? It seems like only English sites are having a problem with this delay algorithm.

I'm in the middle of setting up a language-specific PBN and I'll get back with my results :)

I am working 100% on french market and for sure we have the same problem describe bellow as "waiting period" since may 17th update.

Is it possible that no such "waiting period" exists, but it's simply that all people who have recently experienced a slower ranking are responding in this and other similar threads, making it seem very real?

@alexa_s: It does exists. More like 90% are experiencing this sandbox.

This is the graph of one of my client, he was ranking top 4 in december and january, then his ranking kept falling and was never stable, but right after the 15 may update he was top 4 again, and no new links were built after his rankings fell after january. So it took him around 3 months to get to the ranking he deserved. This keyword he is targeting is a really high volume keyword.

So what did you do different when you saw that jump? Any social or anything different from being taught today?
