i did a small analysis.. i used two of my sites and ranked purely with GSA and 10 articles scraped and smashed one was used. it got hit.

for my one another site i used 5 unique articles, spun with wordai, smashed as 1 articles with GSA.. it got hit but only 4-9 position drops.. not like first one..

so its getting clear that its penguin 3.0

Hey Matt Cutts, since you obviously visit this forum, can't you just tell us a little update?

Lol so hard to tell for me. There are a few of my sites who doesn't move on ranking, but there is one site that moves a lot. However there is also a Neg. Seo campaign running against my site (I get ~10-15 spammy viagra links/day)

So it's hard to say what the exact reason for rank dropping is.

my site disappear from the money keywords only, all it has are high quality mix type links from blackhatlinks
cleanup will be disallow all the links from blackhatlinks to the page level or to the domain level more effective?

Thanks
God Bless

These things scare the heck out of me. I am not sure if my sites are having a bad day or if they are hit.

I've got my main keyword back on the first page. Some others are starting to go up slowly.

No more whitehat for me, my sites using expensive, high quality guest posts/press releases/etc all got hit

I've got a few pms about what I've done. My keywords have started to go up and as I mentioned my main keyword is back on the first page, 2 spots from where it was a week ago.

I was not hit hard so if you've dropped 200 spots this probably isn't going to work. To me it was pretty obvious my issue was my anchor text. It could be different for you. That's the only noticeable difference between two of my sites.

Site that got hit has 55% generic terms and the url. 8% main keyword. Then 7% for most other keywords.

The site that didn't get hit has 74% generic and url. 5% and less for keywords. I hope that makes sense.

I posted an article on the sites blog targeting a different keyword in the industry. Then started a doing a lot of SEO with just generic terms and naked url. I've been waiting to see what will happen from that and decide what to do next.

I also bought two old domains that are related to industry. One is from 2004 and had been used back then for something very similar to what I'm doing. Both of these sites have old links, even some on companies pages. I'm setting these up as blogs for now. If my site drops suddenly then I'll edit my web 2.0s to point to these blogs.

That's what I'm doing. I think it's still to early and I'm waiting to be slapped like Penguin 2.0.

what were your other ratios like? 55%+8%+7% doesnt equal 100%, im guessing brand anchors?

My site went up 3 pages from 6 to 3rd in 4 different long tail keywords... but definitely something is strange in google search past few days

Interesting. How high in G were you able to rank the site with generic and brand anchors? I find it difficult to get to the top 5 in competitive niches without throwing in a good amount of keyword anchor text.

bring on the penguins; I have a Gatling gun:-)

algoroo.com is showing some movements in past 1 week
though not alarming.
