Seller wants refund... 6 months later..?

It's probably a little too late for the card company to do a charge back but they were fake and if you represented them as legit don't you think it would be the right thing to give the guy his money back?
As to eBay and what they would do I have no clue... but to keep everyone happy and not lose your eBay account I would probably just refund him. After all you do say you made a decent buck at that and this is part of the cost of doing business.

You sold him fake stuff for 200 pounds and he figured it just now? Good job! Simply ignore him, it's been over 180 days and he just wants some easy cash.
I am pretty sure the buyer got the real headphones and sent back some fakes.
Paypal dispute has to be made in 45 days.
But if he decides to charge back then you are fucked. Banks are able to issue chargebacks for more than a year after the purchase.

You could end up having the real Headphone maker coming after you, that would be more costly than issuing the refund.

well other option would be, ask him to ship it back to you (he bears the shipping cost), and tell him that you will have a look and issue half a refund.

Technically there is nothing he can do, he can try to prove that they're fake but he can't prove that they're the same ones you sold him. It would be morally and ethically right to refund him but since that isn't possible just learn from your mistakes and move on. I hope this discourages people from selling counterfeit things, one day it'll come back to bite you.

If you sell fakes items that's the risk. He can speak with lowyer and do legal recourse. It's not impossible and he's in the right.

Holy cow 6 months after you sold him the headphones and he wants a return!
Not even Walmart would accept a return that old.
As far as you having to refund his money I know on Ebay after the auction has been over for 90 days you cant even reply to a message that someone sent you during the auction about the item. Without sending a brand new message.
That's how long they have to return an item is 90 days once its over 90 days they can't do anything from my experience.
Unless its a credit card chargeback and with my card company I can do one within 6 months of the purchase. If he is able to do a credit card charge back it will put your paypal account in a negative balance if your funds are at zero.
If you dont pay your negative balance you will obviously lose your account.
If he makes anymore threats at you I would demand to see the proof that he sent the headphones to be repaired and they came back reported as fake. He could be telling you anything just to get you to refund the money.
As far as him taking legal actions against you that would cost a lot and I mean a lot of time, work, and money and would be very unlikely. Because it would cost him way more money than he lost from the purchase of the headphones it would be very unlogical for him to throw good money after bad.
If I were you I wouldn't do anything unless things got bad and then I would just refund his money because after all you did deceive him and that is morally wrong

see its more of an ethics question and only you can decide to refund or not, technically it is fine if you don't.

There is no way he can get his money back, only if you can be honest to him and your self. If you can't afford to refund him the full amount, just refund a part. And also put yourself into his place and if you can afford to refund him a part of the amount, do it.

You could have agreement with buyers about buying. if your product is fake or something u should do refund Or customer can go with legal action. then it will be big problem to you..
