Hi there,
lets see if anyone have a good info about this,
i have some good keywords to work with, and Im planing to buy the domain with the exact keyword name, but the dot com of course is already taken (they are competitive kw)
but I found that if i write my domain keywords like this: http://WWW.I-LOVE-YOU.COM (just and example) instead of http://WWW.ILOVEYOU.COM im able to buy the domain.
I wonder if there is any diference for google, and if it will rank okey. I read in other places that it will be even better for the search engines... but i really dont know..
Any opinion?

Thx

both are good if you use strong backlinks to rank them. But i like iloveyou.com

Google, possibly, ignores hyphens (at least for most of its jobs), but it will mention it nevertheless. Otherwise it will go insane.

Please Google this:
google ignores hyphens in urls matt cutts

and read some results It might help you...

Also it is not absolutely necessary to have a domain name contain your keywords, with or without hyphens... Type in google:
pay day loans

and see the results. Many of the top sites don't have the keywords in their domain names (domainname.ext), but may not also have the keywords in the complete url (domainname.ext/keyword-here/or-theKW-here/or-kw-here/u-get-the-point). You can still rank your page on the KW without the KW in URL.

HTH

ILOVEYOU.COM is better
I know ILOVEYOU.COM it looks better and is more easy for remember and type, but the question is, if is better for rank (apart of the backlinks).
Any good info about?

If you have a great content in it, and also do great SEO for it, then yes, you can possibly probably definitely :D rank it on top. There could be more SE factors that determine where you'd be ranked -- e.g., many BHers are already sitting there for good / there are top sites occupying the top spaces with or without G's help ;) / you are plainly unlucky / whateverelse... In other words, just having the keyword.com won't help you much SEO-wise.

Thanks man! I found great info at matt cutts blog!
So far the only bad thing about using hyphens at the domain is if your domain name is really long like buy-viagra-here-u-will-fu*k-more.com, search engines most sure will take it as spammy site, anyway if u have 2 or 3 hyphens in the url there is no problem about ;)

Anyway, ur totaly right that content and inside seo will be much efective than having the keyword in the url!

Just read:
" Last yearGoogle updated its algorithms to dampen the exact match domain benefit. However, long before this, the success of numerous brand name domains, many verging on the ludicrous, proved you do not need a keyword rich domain to succeed."
