virtual machine question ($20 reward to whoever can solve it

This is probably a stupid question but im pretty inexperienced with this stuff. Im trying to set up virtual machines on my computer using vmware player, and Im having issues. Alternatively, ive had the same issues with virtual box and other vm software so I know its something to do with my computer.

Here are my computer specs, Its a sony vaio something or other

processor: intel(R) core(TM) i5-3337U CPU @ 1.80 GHz 1.80 GHz
RAM: 8 gig
System type: 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

Im running windows 8

When I try to launch the virtual machine, it gives me an error, something to the effect of the processor and 64 bit mode or something, ill update with a screenshot later.

Im trying to launch windows 7 from my disc drive for the virtual machine. I know the disc is good cause of used it on 2 other computers just fine, except they were both also running windows 7.

I thought maybe it had something to do with windows 8 but im not sure.

PM me if you think you can help with this, or walk me through getting virtual machines on my current computer by any other means, and I'll paypal you $20, perhaps more depending on the extent of the help, but no less. if youre a newb, after youve helped me I'll pay. Make sure to enable hardware virtualization from the BIOS settings, a screenshot could of been helpful.

This is why i switched from Windows 8 back to Windows 7. I had more problems than satisfaction, Windows 8 are more for touchscreen in my point of view this Windows platform is too young to be fully and smoothly used for simple PC user.
So the reason why you having problems is not because you dont know how to do it, it might be the windows platform itself.

umm...its not about money dude but maybe the version of the application needs an update or not even compatible with the OS of windows 8...try to replace it with another u can try Oracle VM VirtualBox its cool one report back and i'd help u

Check if VT-x (Hardware Virtualization) has been enabled in the BIOS.

Check if VT-x (Hardware Virtualization) has been enabled in the BIOS. Second try to run some live linux OS if you are able to run then it could be window 7 problem. or other you can try free Virtual box

I suggest you to switch to VBox ,I dont really like vmware ,There are lots of problem...

Oracle is the best VM software so far. Really, it gives me so many features. Also, you can get it from torrents sites 100% full

Ive used vmware player a lot in the past and its always been fine for me, Ive been considering just buying the workstation but we'll see. My use of these vm's are pretty simple and straight forward so if I can skate by with vmware player I probably will.

Are you trying to run a 64 bit OS on the VM? If so, go to your bios and look for something that say enable virtualization or something like this. It depends of your CPU and laptop vendor. You need to enable hardware virtualization at CPU level to run 64 bit VM. If you can't enable it, then try to download a 32 OS version.
