Will changing my YouTube thumbnail reset my video ranking?

I am really on the edge whether or not I should change a thumbnail for a video I created. Will it affect ranking in YouTube or Google search engines? I know if I change the description or the title, rank will immediately be affected. But do the same algorithim rules apply when changing a thumbnail?
