I thought I would share my goals for 2014 with you for some inspiration and also feedback.
My background is I am a graphic designer with a MSc in Interactive Digital Media and am currently working full time. About a year ago I came across this forum and to be honest didn't think much of it UNTIL I started to read some of the journey threads which got me interested in Black Hat methods. For most of last year I focused on twitter, facebook and tumblr as my black hat journey. I made about 2k last year using these avenues and was happy with that.
GOAL 1:
For 2014 I am thinking bigger, instead of having 10 seperate twitter accounts focusing on different niches I decided to join them together and create a social media brand. So I decided to revamp and create a brand for my twitter presence, as a result 'this is' was born. I have now 10 twitter accounts all connected by one name, for example:
My @fitnessrocks twitter account is now @thisis_fitness
My @mightybanter twitter account is now @thisis_humour
Other accounts incl:
@thisis_1_d
@thisis_facts
@thisis_viral
@thisis_design
@thisis_doge
@thisis_vine
@thisis_brand
The total amount of followers in my network is over 150k and growing at about 4-5k a week. I have no interest in buying fake followers as I want my engagement of my accounts to reflect my followers. I see so many twitter accounts with 1m followers but only 30-40 retweets, to me this reflects badly on your account.
In summary:
I want to grow my new twitter social media brand to well over 1 million by end of 2014. I am in no rush to monetize at the minute, the focus is on engaging content. I will create a website and use my network to drive traffic from all my twitter accounts which will hopefully create some solid cash flow.
GOAL 2:
With my background in design I have also been selling some of my illustrations/ designs on Society6, some of you may know about Society6 but for those who don't - Society6 allows you to upload your designs through there website and they sell your work as prints, t-shirts etc. Using my BHW methods I have managed to get a considerable amount of followers which has helped my work get to the front page. I have made just under 3k last year.
So my goal is to create 5 more accounts using the same methods for my personal account and hopefully triple my income as a result. Easy
I also want to setup 3-4 zazzle accounts and generate some income using my designs from Society6.
GOAL 3:
I am a huge fan of tumblr and made an easy 1k in 3 weeks from mylikes as a result. The method I used was pretty straightforward but resulted in many MANY accounts being deleted and as a result I gave up. The method was so obvious:
I created 10 tumblr accounts mainly aimed at soft core porn. I used Imacro scripts which followed and liked up to 1k accounts a day. by the end of 1 week I had about 3k followers. I simply used some javascript to re-direct my tumble homepages to my mylikes weblinks. I had a few photos that went viral on tumblr and got well in excess of 20k clicks. I quickly realised mylikes was shit and jumped ship.
I would recommend that method to anyone who has a tumblr bot for creating tumblr accounts with different IP addresses.
At the moment I have used the same method as above to getting followers but not on such a big scale. I have 6 tumblr accounts aimed at different niches (funny, fitness, design etc), I have well in excess of 20k followers (2 month period). I am in no rush to monetize these accounts just yet BUT when I build my THISIS website I will drive traffice from tumblr to that website.
That is pretty much my aim for 2014:
Grow my THISIS brand
Create a THISIS website
DRIVE traffic to my THISIS website from my twitter and tumblr accounts
Make 10k with my designs from Society6 and zazzle
Do all this while working full time as a designer
