PPC Help Thread - Ask us anything about Google Adwords!

I always seem to have problems spending my daily budget, even with a higher bid. If I want to spend my $10 daily budget the only way I can actually get it to spend is to set the budget extremely high, sometimes $1000. Is this a normal practice or do I just suck?

It might just be a case of low CPC for your Keywords. Rather than raising daily budget, raise your Max Bid if that's the case.

Hey wow, thanks for the thread man, as your handle suggests, you're from India, so am I :) Always pumps me up to find another Indian active in this field as you know how most of our parents force us for freaking Government jobs :)

Not sure what your exact question is my friend. If it's about Adsense, then I am not the best person to answer those.

Have you had campaigns with 300 clicks and leads? What is your lowest/highest leads and CTR from AdSense? I've tried to target synonims and latent semantics of different languages for the same keywords to lower the CPC.

Thanks. And that's a good point made by you:p

I once read a very interesting discussion on Quora.com about why India does not produces as many "inventors" or "entrepreneurs" as the USA.

One of the respondent replied that it was because of the Indian Parents.:D The best age for entering into entrepreneurship is between 22 -28 generally, and that is the Age where most of the Indian men get married. Since it requires a stable job to impress the parents of a would-be bride & the society in general, the Indian Parents rarely supports any entrepreneurship aspirations of their son. So he ends up working full-time, marrying a nice lady, and bidding goodbye to his entrepreneur dreams.

Dumb logic I know and far from the truth, but this certainly is one of the factors for sure, lol.

I have tried a small campaign on adwords, pointing to my main site which offers a test package. Any chance you could have a look at it? I could PM you the keyword, few ads, ctr and the landing page.

I'm very inexperienced so any tip would be very helpfull! :-)

Awesome thread thanks.

I am so frustrated with adwords! I have an original self help ebook and audio book in the relationship genre. First up I set up a landing page that linked back to clickbank and wrote the copy myself - and got suspended.
When I responded with "why?" the adword rep said I was making claims about my program that could not be 'proved' such as "learn how to be a man that women respect". I also said you wil get a "guaranteed result or your money back" (I have a 90 day money back guarantee). It took me weeks to sort these issues out. I'd go back with the change and ask them "is this ok now?" then then they wanted another change and then another (over 10 changes). In the end I basicaly had to get rid of all the 'benefits' about my program in my sales copy. Then, after I savaged the copy, they then wanted a disclaimer above the fold even before I made an offer!?

As you can imagine the resulting sales page sucked. I then went on elance and got a really good and repuatable US copywriter to write the sales copy and now the same thing has happened. I am trying to reason with them by saying that self help products are subjective and should a customer not like or agree with the quite reasonable claims that I made, they will get a full satisfaction money back guarantee. The rep who I am speaking with is insisting that I elaborate more on my content and to provide 'proof' of my claims. She also said that each testimonial must have an individual disclaimer as well as the general disclaimer above the fold!

Is this for real? My product is great and it really helps people with realtionship problems. However I am now stuck with a bland page that is plastered with disclaimers that has no hope to convert.

My questions are 1) Why would Adwords be so aggressive against such a harmless and benign product such as mine? 2) Am I being used as some kind of example? 3) Has my domain name been blacklisted by adwords and hence the attention? 4) How come every other landing page I've seen online does not have a disclaimer above the fold yet they insist I must have one? 5) Is there any way to appeal their decrees? 6) If I use an 'accredited Google adwords' person or company would they back off and leave me alone? Any insights would be GREATLY appreciated.

Account analysis would be a bit time consuming. However, you can post any issue you are facing like low CTR or high CPC etc. here and I'll try to provide a solution

Is this a promotion?
What about this post implies he's trying to promote anything? He's trying to help. I can see what you're trying to do though, based on your signature... So, I'll ask you the same question: is this a promotion?

Hi,

If you can PM me the URL of the Landing Page in question, then I'll be in a better position to answer these questions.

However,
1. There are certain "verticals" or "industries" or "niche" in which Adwords advertiser faces more trouble in getting approved. It's certainly not specific to your product, (2) neither are u being singled out as an example. 3). If it's an account level suspension or a Domain level suspension then the billing details are usually blacklisted as well. So any new adwords account might also get suspended during set-up. 4). This "above-the-fold" disclaimer rule is something that I have seen people get away with as well. I think a good account history plays a part here as well. But you should have disclaimer in certain industries on at-least the footer, and in should be "indexable" or written in a way which the Adbot can see. 5). No appealing 6). Accredited Google Adwords companies doesn't get any policy relaxation either - although some of them do get a dedicated service rep assigned from Google to look into any client account related issue.

Can someone provide new adwords account creation service?

You don't need a service to create an adwords account - it's free and you can sign-up yourself. Unless you have been suspended in the past (in which case it depends why you were suspended).

Hi,

1. What are the best tools to use in order to do a powerful keyword research?
2. After you did your keyword research, how do you they are the right keywords for your campaign, meaning bringing conversions, and not only clicks?
3. How do you write ads?

Thanks.

N00b question: how to check what others are doing on google US. I am coming from the EU. Few weeks ago a simple proxy or a VPN would have done the trick but now I just get the search results, google shopping results and no adwords ads.

Thanks a lot!

Get a U.S cloud server, for example from Amaz0n and re-search all you can :) You can connect via Remote Desktop Connection.

Hey Guys,

Great thread thanks.

I have 2 questions.

1) Any tips on trying to find sites to put banners on that use the google network? At present I'm just having to do a google search under some keywords I think are targeted and see what comes up and then look to see if they have ads on there or not.

2) Is there a way to put a banner ad on a site, on a particular page of the website rather than across the entire site? For example www.site.com/subpage.html

Hi,

2. After you did your keyword research, how do you they are the right keywords for your campaign, meaning bringing conversions, and not only clicks?
3. How do you write ads?

Hi,

1. I personally use Google Keywords Planner, SEMRush Pro & Meta Tags Analysis of competitors.
2. I don't think there is a method to know this beforehand. You will need some stats about a keyword to ascertain whether it would be profitable or not. What I generally do is classify keywords into four categories as follows:
-Awareness
-Interest
-Shopping
-Buying

Depending upon the niche, Awareness keywords might outperform Interest & Shopping level keywords. Buyer keywords will almost always be your best performing ones though. (I use 'Label' feature in Adwords to keep track of which keywords falls in which phase of the Buying Funnel.
3. Again, there are several techniques of writing Ads. But one thing I always do is to use the 'Ad Preview tool" and see the exact Ad Copies of the competitors with which I will be competing for the same keywords in the same target locations. Then the next step is to making sure my Ad Copy is 'different' or stands out from the rest.

If you want to see the Ads, use the 'Ad Preview Tool' and choose the desired area/location.

To see keywords of competitors, I use SEMRush.

Get a U.S cloud server, for example from Amaz0n and re-search all you can :) You can connect via Remote Desktop Connection.

Thanks for chipping in.

Hi guys, I'm hoping you can help me with anAdwords campaign as I can't figure out how to do the following.

At the moment the account is set up so that all of the campaigns are basically thrown into one folder for that "client", even though these campaigns are not all closely related.

I want to split up the different campaigns into separate folders, so that they are organized and easy to analyze separately.

So for example, there are 10 campaigns which are all about Cars To Buy, 10 campaigns that are about "Cars To Rent" and 10 campaigns about "Car Repair". At this moment all the campaigns are mixed in together. I would like the 10 campaigns in each category to be split into separate folders.

I can't figure out how to do this in Adwords.

Also, can I ask, is it possible to move keywords from one Ad Group to another, and even one Campaign to another, while retaining all the data and history that you have collected on conversions etc for that keyword??

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

I need some answers ...I have quite a few PPC experts in my network and i am thinking of reselling the PPC service to my clients.

1. Will you show all the keywords to your client with biding amount too? Doesnt client get the data and put a campaign by himself?

2. What if you use only some percent of clients amount and tell him that his all amount is consumed? How can i be sure that my PPC expert is actually using all the allocated amount?

3. what is a typical PPC reports looks alike? Any examples will be highly appreciated.

thanks in advance.

Ok, I have couple easy questions. I have really small start couple days ago and need some help to get this going to right direction. At the moment, start does not seem good.

My overall campaign CTR is 0.75% for today, CPC 0.72€, Avg pos. 3.6

The problem is that my products in amazon are priced between 10-30usd (plus added stuff by buyers, that does not count here). The funny thing is that 10% of my real visitors turn into purchased products. With only 400 organic, unique visitors, I got bit under 100usd (70 items) amazon profit per month which shows that there is potential. Of course I hope this adwords campaign will deliver better conversion. Now I need to adjust the adwords settings so that I can increase CTR, lower CPC and target ads better.

- How soon I can start adjusting the CPC and daily bid?
- Should I use the recommended bid what keyword planner gives?
- Other ideas?

ps. I tried to post url to screenshot of report but my account is too new for that.
