Pinterest Fashion vs. Recipes

Alright we all know these are the most active categories on pinterest. But I just can't decide which is better to drive traffic to my blogs.

I will list the advantages and disadvantages for each from my experience:

Fashion:
Pros:
- Women are interested in anything, you don't have to be very picky.
- They are so easy to get out there. They always get tons of repins.
Cons:
- They don't generate much clicks to your website

Recipes:
Pros:
- They generate a lot of clicks to your website

Cons:
- They are hard to promote.
- You would be surprised what the foods women repin the most.
- Very unexpected. When you think you found a great pin then you didn't.


So what do you think guys. Do you have any suggestions to get people to click on the fashion pins and to get food pins out there a little more.

How do you get them to go to your website? There is nothing more to see than the picture on pinterest.

Wondering about that as well. There are tons of jurneys on BHW that only repin and post pins on their blogs, so it should be possible to do this without adding more to the blog.

However, I was thinking to add amazon.com affiliate links to the items on my blog to give something usefull to the visitors. The problem in this is that my Pinterest Bot won't be of much help because I have to get the pictures from Amazon (in order to link to the correct item). Don't know if it's worth the work I have to put into it. Pictures only is autopilot...

While I'm at it: Is there maybe some wordpress plugin or bot that takes Items from amazon and posts them to your blog (picture + description + affiliate link)? That would work pretty well for pinterest blogs.

I don't think such plugin exists. But I just wonder what exactly your bot does. Can you explain what it does. I use Imacros and would like to see if I can make something similar.

But anyways I am just having trouble getting people to click on the fashion pins because they don't expect so see anything more than the picture. Putting the items on amazon won't be of much help if you're not getting the traffic already. Again the point is to get them to click on your pin. They usually do that with recipe pins but not with fashion.

I would suggest for you to build a large follower base with your autopilot method and once you have enough followers you can start posting amazon affiliate links manually since the number of repins would probably compensate for your hard work that way.

How do you automate grabbing relevant posts and repost them on your blog and pin them. Does fin blaster do that?

I am sorry but can you explain a little more. How would advertising on other social media platforms be any different from trying to promote my blog on pinterest.

And what exactly do you mean by building a networking list,free or commercial

I suggest working with a niche that you'll be able to work with comfortably everyday until you reach your goal. I tried making money in adult niche using one of the Tumblr methods from BHW last year because, hey, who doesn't take a break and look at NSFW stuff from time to time. It got unbearable after a month and had to look for another niche.

Once you break the 4000 follower limit you can start to posting a lot of pins and start seeing a lot of likes and repins giving you more followers.

It's not going to happen overnight either.You gotta stick with it and keep building the account.Once the account is making $100-200 a day let it sit and start over with a new niche.

Have you tried writing a top list article and then putting a call to action in the pin description? For food niche, I write a blog post of Top 5 Healthy Salad (example only) with a CTA of "Click for more ideas". Perhaps the same could be applied to fashion and other niches.

Start out with just 10 good pins and follow and unfollow for two weeks then start adding about 30-50 pins a day.The more followers you get start adding more pins.Thats what I did and I'm at 8000 followers and growing.With 8000 followers I pin about 500 pins a day for 3 days then follow more people for 4 days rince and repeat.

In fact if you go more precise it is Desserts, some very lovely looking desserts which is almost calories free,
