After reading so many other peoples inspirational progress on here, I've decided to start my own journey. Partially to motivate others who are currently at my level, but mostly to motivate myself. Nothing new here really, most of what I am doing I have read here on this very forum. I'm a complete noobie at IM, only having made a few sites and I have never made money. However, I do feel as if I know what I am doing now(mostly) and plan on seeing this through. I'll be doing a little bit of everything, this is also a learning process for me too.
The Plan and Research:
I've found a fantastic niche that looks ripe for the taking. There are so many easy to rank for keywords, that I am surprised that nobody else has found it. Perhaps because the CPC is less than a dollar for most KW's. What I did was I looked through many of the popular niches online, and then I used longtail pro to determine how competitive they were. From a single keyword I branched off and found this massive niche. What I was looking for were sites in the top 10 with the majority of the sites having a domain authority under 50, and page authority under 40, the less the better. I'm also looking to make sure that the sites are not ecommerce sites, like Amazon, as these are especially hard to out rank, and I look to see if the main keyword is in the title. I found a niche with a lot of keywords and a lot of room to grow, so I went after it.
Content Implementation:
Now that I have my niche, I've begun creating the content. I am doing everything 100% on my own, no outsourcing for now. I purchased a brandable partial match domain and set up all of the plugins and social media. Because I am new to IM and have only a paltry amount of knowledge on external backlinking, I've decided to build my site in a silo structure, so that I can minimize the need to do external backlinking. I'm going to start by building out my homepage, and then making my second tier. I'm about half way done with this tier, and have a few additional articles on the third tier. By the end of this week I hope to have 1 2000 word static home page, and 30 1-2k support pages. I've got a few third level articles but that is not my focus, right now I'm just trying to flesh out my site as much as possible.
Off Page SEO:
I manually spun one article in my niche using TBS, and used LAIO to submit it to about 50 article directories, 50 bookmarking sites, 10 web 2.0's, a couple of RSS feeds, 50 wikis, along with a few video submissions using a short video that I made. In addition, I made a few doc, audio, and logo submissions. I've also purchased Buzz Bundle, and spend about 30 minutes each day making relevant blog and forum comments as well as tweets. All of my backlinks are the URL of my site, or name of my "brand".
After I have built out my site completely, I plan on building web 2.0's, with 5 pages of manually written content. I haven't decided if I am going to build one for each of my categories yet, but at least one for each of the categories that I want to rank for the most, it really depends on where I am at. I'll start with 5. In addition, I've purchased a couple of PR 3 expired domains, and I plan on building those out to go along with a link to the home page of my site.
I plan on leaving my web 2.0's alone for at least a week, and then I'll start creating backlinks using GSA+KM. I currently do not own this software, nor have I ever built out a web 2.0 properly, but I have seen tutorials on how to so I know what to do. How aggressive will I build out my tier 2 links to my web 2.0s? I don't know, probably about 500 links to each property to start with over the course of a couple weeks. On week 2 I will add the links to my money site from the web 2.0s. In the mean time, I will be building out the third tier of content with at least 5 500 word articles to each of my second tier pages. That is 150 articles, but this is the final step for me and a long term project while GSA creates back links and I wait for my keywords to rank.
Current Status and Future Updates
I started near the beginning of this month, and right now I am getting between 5-10 visitors a day. I've got about 20 articles up, and most of my main keywords are in the top 100 of Google. I'll try to continue to update this daily with my progress and with what kind of content I add to my site. If anybody has any suggestions or would like to make a comment, go for it!
