My Silo+Adsense IM Journey

Everything ia back and ranking better than ever. I'm now getting 50 visitors a day to the site.

Wrote three more articles. Site is almost fleshed out. Very excited to see what happens when I start pounding out support articles

Nice! Like I (and others) have said before, just keep doing what you're doing. That's much easier said than done. It can be addictive checking your rankings and traffic every hour of every day.

Just be sure that you are building links from diverse sources (Web 2.0, video, doc sharing, relevant comments, article directories, etc.). Also, don't focus your anchor text too much on keywords. Especially with a newer site, you should be focusing more on brand and URL anchors (My Site, mysite.com, www.mysite.com, MySite, etc.).

After re-reading your first post it sounds like you are already doing this. Keep it up!

Also, I would highly recommend that you do not pay anyone to send a link package to your site. I've been screwed over by this many times in the past. It can be tempting to buy a link package that appears to have lots of good reviews, but they will often end up ruining a new site. Just my $.02

Thanks for stopping in! Yes, I'm very paranoid about backlinking and am just focusing on content which seems to be working well. I have 30 silos and most of these are ranking in the top 100 and the support articles are even ranking high. This is with just base links. As soon as I focus on the individual silos and build a proper web 2.0 network, I think the site will really explode.

Just taking some time. My #1 target gets 27k searches a month and I'm #58

Cool! Keep adding updates. It's always nice to see successful websites come together. I think your expired domains will really help as well. That seems to be one of the most powerful links you can get right now.

I have a very similar journey. Im also targeting 27K/exact main keyword. 5 subkeywords ( 12K /exact combined ) and long tails from Articles. Glad to see that you are going strong. Keep working and don't focus on backlinks till you have a good foundation

Best Wishes

Freakin crazy to think about all the content you're doing yourself! I'm always interested in the journeys where the person either does it all manually, or all outsourced. Overall, doesn't seem too blachhatish to me? I'll be keeping an eye on this, GL schmitz!

Another day. 2 more articles and my sites rankings continue to shoot up. My #1 keyword is now ranked #44

I got one 44 cent click

Webmaster tools is showing something interesting. I'm getting hundreds of impressions from a single keyword that I am not ranking for or trying to rank for, no idea how that is happening. The keywords name is "types of hats", lol. I wrote something about hats in the article but not those words specifically, and I've got about 30 longtails of the same phrase. "hat types", "tiipes of hats", "types of hates", so weird.

Great journey. I am quite motivated but thank you for this amazing thread. Makes me more motivated.
Also, good luck with your journey, I am sure you will reach your goal.

I suggest you work some more on that hats thing as it seems its easy to rank.

Webmaster Tools tends to report on things that are inaccurate for some reason. I get that all the time. One of my highest impression keywords for one of my sites is in a similar situation. G Web says I'm getting tons of impressions, but when I look for the page in the search results it is nowhere to be found. Just ignore those random results. Pay more attention to something like Google Analytics or Statcounter if you have them installed.

True, but analytics its useless for seeing organic searches, and seems to be just as inaccurate

I find the good old statpress plugin very good as it lists your latest search terms and referrers.

Nice journey, subscribed. Please keep us informed about your ranking/traffic/clicks/backlinks created.

Good luck with your site..i guess your site is a month or two old so be patient with linkbuilding , you will rank sooner or later..also do you think silo structure has anything to do with your rankings or those are just low competition keywords..have you built any links on your inner pages ??

So far I've only added a few internal links and about a hundred weak links to my home page. Its hard for me to know if the rankings are due to siloing or if its from low competition, because I'm not experienced enough to determine that. However, I've only siloed up a couple of categories yet everything is ranking. At this point backlinking and siloing are just hidden weapons ill pull out to finish the job off. Thanks everyone for following!

Finished off what was left of my landing pages. Today I made...over $6! Rankings are still slowly rising without me doing anything tricky yet, so I'm excited to see what happens, and if I can push my SERP's up to the first page. That little stretch of me sweating bullets is all but a distant memory now. I'm about to give my rankings a shot in the arm with some web 2.0 backlinks and by adding support articles.

Also, I'm re-evaluating my monetization method a bit. I'm using adsense, but you can find the products in my niche on Amazon. I think that by adding some comparison tables and Amazon links it will increase user experience while at the same time increasing my income.

Nice job. Do backlinks only if you have too otherwise push some more content on the site.

Nice work! You could definitely add more income by including some Amazon links. It might take away from your Adsense earnings, but hopefully the benefit would outweigh any loss.
