Journey to The Future & $100/Day

Thanks for all the support and for pushing me guys! This is like therapy, and I have to say, I know it's a long road ahead but I'm already starting to feel better. The BJJ gym is definitely helping. My mind isn't ready to recover yet, so I think getting my body in shape in the meantime is best medicine. I'm also sitting down with the owner of the gym today to talk about what we can do to improve his online presence and marketing strategies, so that should interesting.

Yesterday the main thing I did was look for designers on Odesk. For any noobs out there, a good tip when hiring off Odesk or any other job board for that matter, is to repost the job several times throughout the day. Odesk is a global community of contractors, and if you want to seek out the best in the world, you need to remember that some poeple are asleep while others are awake. If it's a big project you may even want to repost several times a day for a week or two. Anyways, I reposted my job 4 times yesterday and after sifting through hundreds of contractors I finally settled on one to handle some last minute design work. He has already submitted to me the first mockup this morning. So I'm going to spend a little bit of today looking over that.

One method I'm going to be using to drive traffic to this site is ranking blog posts for various longtail keywords in my niche, and then linking these blog posts internally to different products I sell. So, with that said, I really need to start producing content. I'll spend some time today offering a number of test writing jobs to various writers (on Odesk as well as BHW) until I can find the right fit, at which point I will place a bulk order. Ideally, my goal is to start with 300 500-1000/word articles which I'll drip feed 3-5 times a day until I'm out, and then set a new goal. Even if each of the 300 posts brings in an average of just 1 visit/day that will be roughly 300 visits/day total or roughly 9000 visits/month. At a conversion rate of 0.5% that's 45 orders/month. At an average of $45 spent/customer that's roughly $2025 in sales/month or $67.50 sales/day. This is just one easy method, and those estimates are really on the low end of what I think I can accomplish. Of course, as I mentioned, I will also be ramping up the number of posts after I hit 300, so there is always room for improvement. I will talk about some of the other methods (adwords, facebook, more seo, etc.) in the coming days. Thanks again for the support guys! One day at a time, this is still the toughest thing I've ever had to face, but I know I'm on the road to recovery.

Hey guys, it's been a while. This past month has been really hard for me emotionally. I still feel kind of messed up in the head. But in terms of business, my output has never been higher. I've been streamlining the development this eCommerce site and developing several other businesses with friends and family. The ecommerce site should be launching by Nov 25th, so I'm extremely pumped about that. Maybe some of you would be willing to check it out when it's up and give me your feedback? I feel like I've been in hiding for a few weeks, and I'm really sorry I haven't been posting. You guys all energized me after the break up, and I honestly owe you all so much for those initial comments you made to me. By far, work has been the best medicine. I discovered some things a few weeks ago that made me furious - won't get into the details but use your imagination. I later noticed, when I'm mad, I work really f*cking hard. Cash is the only thing on my mind right now.

Updates
- Ended up becoming pretty good friends with the developer who is building the ecommerce site for me. I found out he was going through something similar. It's been pretty cool working with someone who is in the same boat.
- I ended up getting a deal with the owner of the BJJ gym. In return for a free membership (which runs $129/month) I'm handling the cpc management and doing some SEO. To me, it's actually a great deal. The work isn't difficult at all and it's proving to be a great reference when recruiting other local clients. Plus, I'm becoming a beast physically and get to work out every night for free.

Okay I want to give a quick tip, because I never want this thread to be about pity or heartbreak. I want it to be about hard work and making money. So here is a cool website I just found out about the other day. When you are doing domain name research, use leandomaintools.com If you don't already know about this site, you should. All you do is go on there and type in any word in your niche. For instance, coffee. You will then get 1000's of available domain name ideas including that word. [Note: I have no affiliation with them, they are actually owned by the same company that owns WordPress. Just thought it was a really cool tool.] It's actually possible to find high PR domains on there as long as you have some kind of mass upload PR checker to run them through. So I've been building up a list of domains with high PR so that I can set up a blog network and send some link juice to my product pages. Should be interesting to see if it works. Anyways, I can't say when I'll be back. Could be tomorrow, could two months from now. So I will just take this opportunity to say thanks for the continued support!

"I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is that moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle - victorious."

Ranking blog posts for long tail keywords is a pretty good idea, you motivated me to do the same thing, and then build backlinks from them to my website. The good thing is, these keywords don't even have to have good CPC, just good monthly searches.
Keep up updating this thread as I really like reading it, especially when you share nice tips and tricks like the one mentioned above.

Hey systematic,

Nice journey! I hope that you can go forward everyday and be successful!
Why not post some screenshots for motivation for some?
Good luck!
