I don't think this has been already posted (Tried to Find it in the search), but Yahoo isn't actually a Search Engine. Yahoo is just a custom search, like you'd find on any other site. The truth is, Yahoo is Powered by Bing, making Google and Bing the only real competitors. This should make ranking easier, as you only need to crack the bing algo, and you've got Yahoo in the Palm of your hand too :)

A wild Slowpoke has appeared!

This is SEVERAL year old news dude...

i only use yahoo for 1 purpose... mail dot yahoo dot com. But before google makes his existence in this www, yahoo was the most used search engine in my life. Anybody still remember the one we call altavista?

Truth is Yahoo receives more traffic in U.S than Google, Google only has the world's advantage and Yahoo has continually beat Google in U.S traffic.

Yahoo is currently partnering with Bing to render their PPC.

I think this is a food for thought.

PS: I just woke up from a 3 Year Old Nap :)

They have a unified PPC network.

Also Yahoo is very very good for US traffic.

Scritty

You cannot be more mistaken.

I have a website that I am trying to rank for google but it showed up in the #1 spot
on yahoo and bing for a good keyword. It got no traffic the whole time it was there.

I have some more websites that easily ranked on the first page of yahoo and bing.
But got no traffic.

Will you tell us about your experience.

The same experience. Hence the reason for my post above.

This is like old news. Way way to old.
To reply to the people that replied:
Anyway last time I checked, Bing holds around 16% of the searches, yahoo holds around 16% of the searches, the rest is google with 2% other search engines. Google had 65%+ which is big. This is for US though.

I'm not sure if they counted pron searches though. If it is about boobs and stuff, Bing is better because they are very slow with the DMCA requests.

Yahoo used to be BIG but they kind of took a nap like the hare and the turtle or whatever the story is called and when they awaken Google was near the finish line and there was no catching up.

Thanks for the reminder, but most people already know this

Google is what we worry about. Bing traffic is small, but it converts good

There are certain markets (Very Huge markets) which are popular on Yahoo/BING. Of course not better than Google but worth enough.
